There is no question that the GOP screwed up bigtime.
Of course, Hillary will screw up worse.

I truly cannot believe that the average male voter (even if he is a registered democrat) will vote for the shrieking Hilary and condemn themselves to 4 years of menopausal feminism.
I just cannot bring myself to view men so low. Surely they will act out of basic self preservation and vote for anyone but her.

I don’t fully agree with you, but I do think we need to look at things soberly and not whistle into the wind like many were doing before the ‘06 congressional elections.
To: Edward Watson
The sooner Republicans and conservatives accept the fact President Bush and the congressional Republicans have so enraged their base and independents that the Democratic Party will gain even stronger control over the congress and will take back the White House in the 2008 elections. What? This is not a complete sentence.... What did you mean to say?
To: Edward Watson
Like it or not, Hilary will be the next President

I don’t see her getting enough people to vote for her.
To: Edward Watson
I disagree with the Hillary assessment. I think Fred Thompson will slaughter her. Because we will still be in Iraq, Hillary will not be elected.
I do agree with you, however, on the House and Senate. The big government big spending neocons have done us in there. We are going back into divided government mode.
To: Edward Watson
I believe she will be “elected” also. This is why I have been asking my congressmen to start the impeachment process against her now while there still are a few “Republicans” in Congress. LOL!

I am not that much of a defeatist, sorry. She has a good chance but many negatives.
Bush has disappointed me in many ways, enraged, no. I looked up some things he has done right and found a long list on an old post on this very forum. How soon we forget.
He has never repaid in kind the crap thrown at him ceaselessly by sore loser Democrats. How could anybody achieve much of anything short of hanging on with what he has been beseiged with?
So the war isn't going well. I didn't want it in the first place, but is it possible it might be going a little better if he had some support from the other side?
I didn't expect him to do everything I wanted. I will still defend what he has done that I think was right and will say a few things I wish he had done differently now and then.
We still have our right to criticize some of his policies without fear of reprisal. How long will we have that?
