I know I'm going to be flamed and elections are still a year and a half away but the momentum seems to be favoring Hilary as the next POTUS. The sooner Republicans and conservatives accept the fact President Bush and the congressional Republicans have so enraged their base and independents that the Democratic Party will gain even stronger control over the congress and will take back the White House in the 2008 elections.
What is to blame for the collapse of the Republican dominance over the US? Corruption, arrogant refusal to heed the wishes of the public (especially on immigration and border security), and Iraq.
Right or wrong, most Americans blame Republicans and Bush for all the problems the US faces. They may not like the cowardly Democrats in congress, but they are viewed as the lesser of two evils.
I simply do not believe the Republican base will work to bring out the conservative vote in the next election - they are tired of being ignored, ridiculed, and abused by the Republican elite in Washington.
President Bush is not the man they thought he was. He calls them racists and not wanting what is best for America just because they oppose giving amnesty to 12-20 million illegal immigrants. He doesn't lift a finger to help the jailed border guards. He let Scooter Libby dangle in the wind for so long despite how obvious it was he should never have been charged in the first place. He didn't change the liberal and leftist bureaucrats and attorneys when he came into power. He opposes racial profiling or protecting the border. He repeatedly calls Islam "the religion of peace" despite the fact Muslims have committed more than 9000 terror acts in the name of their religion since 9-11. He dragged his feet in weaning America off foreign oil. He's presided over a shrinking Navy that can no longer fight two simultaneous wars.
Sure, he's done some good, but it can't be denied at how bitter most conservatives are at the Republicans and how they feel betrayed by President Bush.
So, despite personally liking Romney, I think it's inevitable Hilary will become the next president. May she do better than the Great Betrayer.
Elementary my dear Watson.
IBTZ?
I hope not, and will work like hell to stop her. If she wins, this is my plan: http://www.livinginthephilippines.com
There is no question that the GOP screwed up bigtime.
Of course, Hillary will screw up worse.
You forget that Hillary has HUGE negatives. Even among women.
Have you ever eaten Philippino food? yikes
You’re probably correct about Hillary.
today’s usa today listed a dozen pubbies who are either under investigation or in jail,
and two democraps.
and, the lame pubbies can’t even get jefferson out of the congress.
Didn’t bother reading. Just shut up.
Just say no to the Hillarycare.
I was stationed in Korea, not the Philippines, but will you look at the prices?! Even in Cebu (the second largest city) one can live like a King or Queen on $1000-1500 a month, including rent, food, servants (maid, driver, gardener) etc.. In smaller cities and towns it costs even less...
I truly cannot believe that the average male voter (even if he is a registered democrat) will vote for the shrieking Hilary and condemn themselves to 4 years of menopausal feminism.
I just cannot bring myself to view men so low. Surely they will act out of basic self preservation and vote for anyone but her.
I don’t fully agree with you, but I do think we need to look at things soberly and not whistle into the wind like many were doing before the ‘06 congressional elections.
Nonsense. This attitude us what is killing this country. Dooesn’t anyone rememebr how to fight anymore? Attack, attack, never give in to these people. What wins elections is the passion of the populace. We will have that passion, and we will ruin these bastards.
What? This is not a complete sentence.... What did you mean to say?
Like it or not, Hilary will be the next PresidentWhat will the stock market do on:
I don’t see her getting enough people to vote for her.
As far as I can tell, the vast majority of the populace has a passion for getting something from "the rich" by way of wealth redistribution schemes and a passion for otherwise being a slave on master government's plantation.
