The Castle Doctrine: Don’t make a home in a state without it.

Granted. A man's home should be his castle, but it shouldn't have to be his fortress.

In Texas he could have blown those goblins away and no one would have said boo. Might have even gotten a civic commendation for saving the state the cost of incarcerating the perps.

In Connecticut, it is guilty until proven innocent if you use a gun for self-defense, even in your home. So people decide it is too risky and avoid them. That just encourages bad behavior by goblins.
