As FOXSports.com first reported earlier this month, sources confirm that a merger between Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Ginn Racing has been completed.
Four teams the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops with Martin Truex Jr., the No. 8 Budweiser with Dale Earnhardt Jr., the No. 15 with Paul Menard and the No. 01 with Mark Martin will travel under the new DEI banner this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Bobby Ginn will be listed as the owner of the Nos. 01 and 15 cars. With Ginn as the new owner of the No. 15, Menard automatically acquires top-35 status thanks to the points earned by Ginn's No. 13 car this season, meaning Menard doesn't need to qualify on time.

I didn’t ping you or post anything to YOU.
I told you on the Nascar thread to leave me alone, I’m done with it because of your idiotic comments just like this one, so leave me alone on other threads that NO ONE pinged you to.
You’re a jerk!
I’m telling you this for the last time. Otherwise it will border on harassment.
And PING to the others so there will be no misunderstanding why I'm mad.
Clintonista my ass!
Car dealer Rick Hendrick wins pardon from Clinton
I had no idea this event had happened until I found a post on FR, which, of course led me to more investigation.
Un freaken real????
Fideist, you seem to have a problem here. Commish stated basically the same thing that WCG did and yet you single her out for your wrath, just like you repeatedly did on the Nascar threads.
Please, knock it off.
WCG,
There is no “harassment” involved. I have been a member of FR for over half a decade. As far as I know, anyone is free to post to anyone, they don’t need to be replied to or pinged in order to speak.
If you are going to post attacks on DEI expect a vigorous defense by me, a DEI fan. As far as I know, you do not have a special dispensation to attack and not hear a defense.
You don’t want to hear it? Stay positive only! Don’t say anything bad about anyone. Which includes DEI, simple as that! But if you attack or insult, you can usually anticipate someone coming to a defense.
Rick Hendrick gave $1 million to Bill Clinton’s Foundation thus earning him a Presidentia pardon. In my book, that makes him a “Clintonista.” By Junior the traitor going to HMS he will make Hendrick more money, a portion of which we can safely assume will find its way into Hillary’s campaign. YES, I said Rick Hendrick is a “CLINTONISTA!”
I will honor your request, and no longer post to you. UNLESS you attack DEI again! Then you can anticipate a vigorous defense of DEI.
Junior was my favorite driver. I could accept him going to ANY NASCAR team EXCEPT for the Clintonista Hendrick.
For some principled people like me, conservative values trump fun and entertainment. For others, like the FReeper fans of HMS, no so much.
Speaking of attacking a driver or team owner....
Agreed! But I am not the one backing down from counter-arguments.
I am perfectly willing to entertain arguments against my criticisms.
I am of the opinion, generally speaking, that conservatives tend to be more principled and liberals tend to be more pragmatic. A simple exercise is the acknowledgement that liberals embrace the idea of “the end justifies the means” which principled conservatives consider anathema.
I was watching Ultimate Nascar on ESPN two nights ago when they mentioned that one of the things that attracts sponsors to our sport is that NASCAR fans tend to be brand-loyal. Speaking for myself, when going for home improvement we shop at Menards first (associated with DEI), Home Depot second (I like Smoke and JGR) and would never step inside a Lowes (associated with HMS).
So what then are we to say of FReepers who are HMS fans? Are they less principled? I don’t think so. My experience is that what they do is “compartmentalize.” In other words they say “that is politics, this is racing, two different things.”
I don’t understand that logic. That is not to criticize it or say it is wrong (because I don’t know if it is or isn’t), I just don’t get it. Because I don’t understand it, all I can do is respect their opinions while disagreeing, and move on.
It is my hope that they afford me the same convention when I hate Rick Hendrick and all he stands on the track because of what he does off of it.
Let me add one more point. I think this whole loyalty thing is almost entirely fan-based. In example I think Dale, Sr. really liked Flash, although his fans can’t imagine it. And although Dale, Sr. may have been upset with Junior leaving DEI, I doubt he would be upset about him going to HMS.
The more I learn about NASCAR the more I learn that behind the scenes the lines are blurred. All these racing families are interbred, and inter-employed. You could be working for one team, and have siblings and cousins inter-married and employed at six other teams, including your supposed arch-enemies!
So like I said, I think almost all this rivalry stuff, and loyalty stuff is fan-based. To the NASCAR teams, they are all one big family.
I take it YOU have no problem attacking another driver and throwing it in the face of one of his fans!
I find that remark despicable as well as your intention to hurt the feelings of another poster!!!
Jr. has only tried to make the best of his career after being rebuffed by Tess.
I suggest you post your derogatory remarks to yourself or someone else who cares...
Junior is an adult human being who, like all other adults, has every right to decide his own employment future. He is NOT his father. He is not obligated to work for his deceased father's company. He has a right to live his own life, just as we all do. The idea that e is a "traitor" for going to HMS is a concept worthy only of very young children -- or dolts.
As for Rick Hendrick's politics, he enjoys the rights of every American citizen to support the candidates of his choice. It is none of your business where he chooses to spend his money and how much he chooses to spend on politics or anything else. I can't respond more fully now, but will take this up again when I get home from work.
As I said above, I am not the one backing down from counter-arguments. Criticizing drivers or teams is not the issue. Criticizing them and then thinking you are insulated from a equally critical response is the issue.
I am perfectly willing to entertain counter-arguments to my criticisms.
If you or WCG, or anyone wants to attack DEI go for it! But expect a vigorous defense by me.
If you or anyone wants to take on my attacks on the traitor Junior and/or HMS, you are free to do that too.
(NOTE: This is not the NASCAR thread, where the group has chosen to insulate itself from politics, personal attacks, etc.)
Criticizim is not the issue. Your insults ARE!
But you STILL don’t seem to understand that!!!
When I post MY NASCAR threads, you will NOT be pinged.
Just stay off of them!!!
Let us hope when you get home you can come up with something more substantive than an ad_hominem.
Junior is a traitor to the company his father and Theresa created. It was his and Theresa's job to work out their differences. Junior abandoned the mission, that makes him a traitor in my book. Just as Theresa would have been a traitor if she abandoned the job.
As for Rick Hendrick's politics, he enjoys the rights of every American citizen to support the candidates of his choice.
ABSOLUTELY! Nowhere did I say or even insinuate otherwise!
And I have the same right to take my support elsewhere. When I have a choice, I will always choose against Clintonistas.
It is none of your business where he chooses to spend his money and how much he chooses to spend on politics or anything else.
If you honestly believe that, I feel sorry for you. If he is spending the money for booze, prostitutes, cults, or drugs, I might agree with you it is none of my business. But to say "it is not my or any American's right to know of quid_pro_quos for Presidential pardons?" I must respectfully disagree.
I was using the terms "criticisms, "insults" and "attacks" interchangeably.
My point remains the same -- if you, WCG, or anyone INSULTS (critizes or attacks) DEI, expect me to INSULT (critiize or attack) back!
Quite simple, really. You don't want to hear my insults for your driver/team, don't insult my driver/team!
When I post MY NASCAR threads, you will NOT be pinged. Just stay off of them!!!
I have been a FReeper for almost nine years. I have never heard of not being allowed on a thread. Forgive me if I check with Jim Robinson first to see if that is allowed? I will do what he says.
I don’t care how long you have been here!
Disrupters with older signup dates have been removed by the dozens.
I think you need to back off a bit (and don't repeat the "I will vigorously defend ANY attack on DEI!" crap. My God, man, you say that so much you sound like a snot nosed Mr. Burns in full whine mode!).
You were the one that started this mess this morning. The statement was made, and full credit given to the originator of that statement, that DEI would become a museum.
YOU went into the attack mode. What gives you the right to call Dale Jr a "traitor" ??? I'm not sure, I'd have to call Jr and ask him to be sure, but I think HE is the one that calls the shots for his Nascar career. Ummm...that leaves you no where. So what you did not agree with it. Ummm...get over it. That does not mean you have to attack someone for having a difference of opinion. You have been doing this for several weeks.
The Nascar threads are supposed to be about Nascar. I need to repeat that for you..."The Nascar threads are supposed to be about Nascar!" Do I need to type slower?
If you have an issue with a political piece, go some where else with that crap. You seem to be hell bent on bringing up the Hendrick political contribution issue every time you put the fingers on the keyboard. STOP!
Enough is enough. Your little spiel this morning about..."For some principled people like me, conservative values trump fun and entertainment. For others, like the FReeper fans of HMS, no(t) so much....
BTW, I put the (t) in there for you. I know, I'm an unprincipled conservative. Could not resist, sorry.
That statement tells me that you have a real issue with people in general, as in you think of yourself as being superior to us regular "conservatives"
Your lame attempt, in a later post, to retract / explain / what ever....didn't get it, mister.
You flat out told me that if I happen to like a driver in HMS, I am morally challenged.
I have a real problem with that, pal! Like, what, I don't fit your "idea" of what a true conservative is?
Who gave you the right to define me, or my values?
Who the hell do you think you are, mister?
You can take your superior attitude and shove it, mister. Understand?
And please, spare me the, "I will vigorously defend DEI..." crap.
And as a parting shot, your tag line makes absolutely no sense at all. As long as I'm down here I might as well talk the talk.
Get a grip on reality!
LOL, save that for next year!
