Thought he owned the runway as well, but apparently doesn't - the runway behind his house is the Greystone Airport. Here's the airport information, 2" thick paving, uncrowned? Shocked that it survived as long as it did with a 707 landing and taking off on it. The lawsuit is because Travolta's upset that he might never get to fly in his 707 to his home again. Aww, poor baby.

If he wants to invest the money in rebuilding the runway, I'm sure that the airport managers would be more than willing to let him.

Man, two inch thick? The street in front of my house is thicker than that, completely unsurprising it fell apart under that load.

Yes. It sounds like his best deal is to pay for a runway upgrade to meet his a/c requirements. That would be a win-win deal all around.
