Unless you expect to enjoy this yard work--lower your expectations and those of your neighbors. Mulch some of the square footage and put in easy-care plantings--it might be worth getting a landscaper and saying "I want less maintenance"--

I moved out of a neighborhood like this with a great sense of relief.

It's not a child, not a moral duty. Enjoy your life and your precious time off.

The way I enjoy my time off is with a hobby. This is turning into a hobby.

And I ain’t paying no landscaper. I don’t pay nobody for nothing I can do myself.

I just need to learn so it will be yet one more thing that I am an expert at.
