At $12,000-a-night suite in the city's Dorchester Hotel, it was probably at the hotel's request that she use her own security team and not set foot in the main areas of the hotel. They probably requested she not be seen to enter and exit the hotel. Who would want this to be advertised as staying in the most expensive room.
The demand not to look the singer in the eye was probably by the hotel management for the protection of the staff's emotional wellbeing.

Babs got to the stage through the kitchen. Employees were told NOT to look at her or speak to her or they'd be fired. When I've told this story to people, few believed it.
I can't stand people who work to be famous, then complain because they are.
