I am not allowed to make a widow out of the wife so soon after we were married, so I am taking care to get better as best I can.

NEVER good to make a widow out of the wife! We had LOTS of arguments even before engagement (I won one: we now have not one but way too many of these instruments of Satan in the household, though most aren't allowed anyway near an active power outlet, much less an Internet connection) -- but over the past quarter-plus-century the only difference I'd have made is: introduce her to computers sooner!! *\;-)
