That’s embarrassing. Sorry, I was worked up writing it and clearly not thinking straight. I hang my head in shame. Thanks for going further than simply pointing out my error. I respect other people’s views on this and realize mine is perhaps unconventional, but it’s not crazy or out of line with the religious values with which I was raised.

I suppose I have done the same thing myself, if truth be known. Your views are not unconventional, but have been repeated by philosophers and sages of great renown (my pappy, for one). Maimonides said that if we show mercy to the merciless, the day will come when the merciless will show no mercy to the merciless. These two girls definately are among the merciless, and apart from true repentance might well end up like that gal who was executed in TX some years back. (BTW, I think Gov. Bush did the right thing by not commuting her execution, even though she professed faith in Christ. I believe a Christian in that situation ought not to lobby for his or her clemency, because the Bible is clear on this subject: Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man (Gen. 9:6)).
