First of all, why are they trying to save the cat? Just put it down for christmas sake.
Second, these girls just might be mentally retarded in some way. I think they should be evaluated for brain damage. I could probably imagine boys doing something like this, in the right circumstances. A lord of the flies mentality sometimes takes over in unsupervised groups of young boys. But girls are different. I’m at a loss.

Why save it? Because they can and because it is the right thing to do. This poor animal was tortured by two deviants. By saving him, these doctors and people demonstrate caring and compassion for others to take note of and hopefully emulate.
You have an incredibly low opinion of people if you think a normal boy would ever torture an animal. Every human should be brought up with a simple respect of the other living beings on our planet.
