...people that get busted frequently also have narcotics...

Although the property that housed the dog fighting was under surveillance for the fighting, it was a drug bust at the property that got this whole ball rolling.

Vick, 27, and three associates were indicted by a federal grand jury in Richmond, Virginia, on a conspiracy count alleging they bought and sponsored dogs in an animal fighting venture and traveled across state lines to participate in illegal activity, including gambling.

RICO!

According to the indictment, dogs that didn't show enough fighting spirit, or that lost matches, were put to death by a variety of methods, including shooting, drowning, hanging and electrocution. Prosecutors allege that on one occasion earlier this year, Vick participated in killing eight dogs.

And this will turn the 68 million dog owners into Vick haters.

The NFL better move quickly....the brand is going to go down when people realize Vick is accused of personally killing eight dogs.

From the TMZ web site.

Vick was charged with illegal competitive dogfighting, which involves training pit bulls to fight against other dogs. When authorities searched Vick's property this month, they found 54 pit bulls and a host of brutal items including a "rape stand," used to hold dogs in place for mating; an electric treadmill modified for dogs and a bloodied piece of carpeting.

Graves of seven pit bulls were found inside "Bad Newz Kennels," a Virginia property owned by Vick. The dogs were allegedly killed after testing whether they would be good fighters. According to documents, dogfights would end when one dog died or backed down, and dogs were sometimes put to death by drowning, strangulation, hanging, gunshot, electrocution or some other method.

Actually I heard they were on the phone with Steve Bartkowski. If that didn’t pan out, they were going to give Jeff George yet another try, as long as he didn’t try to do another victory lap around the Georgia Dome.

That's one aspect, and you're right, this is really nasty and the NFL is associated with it. Let's see how fast the Commish moves. I'm guessing very fast because he's made clear his mission; in no small part it consists of taking out the trash.

Now about the criminal case. The important question it seems to me is how far will the Feds take this, considering Vick's stature and other things? This could very well be a circus. Personally I'd like to see him put away for ~10 years in a federal prison cell with a pack of viscous, hungry dogs if found guilty. But that's just me.

Yes, very possibly flipped. I suspected they had inside dope from somebody. Feds have a certain persuasive manner about themselves, I hear. And let’s see if one of the other defendants here turn into a corroborating witness just to bolster the case. Probably not “Peace” as he’s depicted as an esp deplorable actor and must go down hard!

They need to cut him loose fast. He shouldn’t come to camp. Get someone who can actually throw.

I hope Adam “Pacman” Jones sent Michael Vick and nice fruit basket.

At least Pacman won’t be the FIRST mentioned in the bad boy NFL stories! lol

Uh oh. They are reporting this morning that Arthur Blank was called back from vacation in Africa to deal with the situation. Vick is beyond toast.
