Vick, 27, and three associates were indicted by a federal grand jury in Richmond, Virginia, on a conspiracy count alleging they bought and sponsored dogs in an animal fighting venture and traveled across state lines to participate in illegal activity, including gambling.

RICO!

According to the indictment, dogs that didn't show enough fighting spirit, or that lost matches, were put to death by a variety of methods, including shooting, drowning, hanging and electrocution. Prosecutors allege that on one occasion earlier this year, Vick participated in killing eight dogs.

And this will turn the 68 million dog owners into Vick haters.

The NFL better move quickly....the brand is going to go down when people realize Vick is accused of personally killing eight dogs.

That's one aspect, and you're right, this is really nasty and the NFL is associated with it. Let's see how fast the Commish moves. I'm guessing very fast because he's made clear his mission; in no small part it consists of taking out the trash.

Now about the criminal case. The important question it seems to me is how far will the Feds take this, considering Vick's stature and other things? This could very well be a circus. Personally I'd like to see him put away for ~10 years in a federal prison cell with a pack of viscous, hungry dogs if found guilty. But that's just me.
