Video games are the “new drug” -

I enjoy them, but I see the dangers.

This reaction by Jahmir was the same as an addict being denied his fix.

It also is a result of parental refusal to “train up a child” by instilling some impulse control through the palm of a hand on the rear of said child.

When I grew up, we had video games, but were a reward after we finished the chores, ate dinner with the family, and finished our homework.

Please, I don’t think video games are causal here, though it gives the story a convenient media angle. 20 years ago this kid would have stabbed his brother over Electronic Football.

Sometimes the unwed ghetto mothers do TOO much beating. Seriously. I’m all for corporal punishment, but the yelling and hitting rampant in some of the ‘hood is not good.
