ROSAMOND - A small homebuilt airplane crashed Saturday into a house near the Rosamond Skypark airport, but the pilot survived with minor injuries and the two people inside the house were not hurt, authorities said. The two-seat 1,200-pound Zodiac came to rest with its fuselage upside down on the house's roof and one wingtip on the front lawn about 11:15 a.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of Citrine Lane, which is about a quarter mile from the end of the Skypark runway and directly in line with it. Kern County Fire Department spokesman Derek Tisinger said the pilot was able to get out of the cockpit by himself, but residents had to put up a ladder to help him down from the roof.

"It was hanging from their roof across their kitchen window," said Rosamond resident Meryl Sporkin, who lives nearby. "It came in low onto the garage roof ... and somehow it came to rest there."

The pilot, whose name was not released, was taken by ambulance to a hospital, Tisinger said. The man suffered minor injuries, Tisinger said. The home's occupants were not identified.

The crash damaged the home's roof, Tisinger said.

"The plane was a total loss," he added.

The plane, sold in kit form by Missouri-based Zenith Aircraft Company, had been assembled by its pilot and had been flown for a total of less than an hour, Federal Aviation Administration and Kern County Fire officials said.

Sheesh. Not much of an investigative reporter. Apparently he's never heard of a reverse directory.

...Not much of an investigative reporter. Apparently he's never heard of a reverse directory....

Could've been a rental.

Sometimes these reporters investigate too much.

Local rag covering the NASCAR plane crash into homes in Sanford, FL this past week dug into the home owners property records and published the price the victims paid for their homes.

Didn't have any relevance to the story at all.

Maybe the homeowners don't want to be besieged by Tin Men.

When Legacy Media and the ABS (Agenda Bias Spin)
network news reporters aren’t running their agendas,
they resort to plain ‘ol incompetence.

It can be hard to find alledged facts in LM/ABS
stories, and when you do, you have to check them,
and don’t use Wiki for that.
