Police Are Looking For Husban, A Trained Sniper
(CBS News) CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- A woman was shot and killed early Saturday while she sang with a band at a restaurant and bar, police said. They were looking for her estranged husband, a National Guardsman who they said had sniper training.
Robin Munis was shot in the head with one gunshot that came from outside the Old Chicago restaurant where she had been performing just after midnight, Cheyenne police Capt. Jeff Schulz said. "He fired from outside the bar, she was killed inside the bar," Schulz told CBS affiliate KGWN.
No one else in the restaurant was hurt.
Witnesses saw her husband, David Munis, in the area, but no one has reported seeing the shot fired, Schulz said. No weapon was found, but Schulz said investigators believe a rifle was used.
The couple had recently separated, and Robin Munis, 40, of Cheyenne, had complained about receiving harassing calls from her husband as recently as Friday, Schulz said.
"We are working solely on him being the suspect," Schulz said at a news conference. He described David Munis as "very dangerous."
Police said they were looking for his 1999 black Dodge pickup with Wyoming registration NG-975.
David Munis, 36, is a second lieutenant in the Wyoming Army National Guard who is attached to the guard's training camp, according to guard spokeswoman Deidre Forster. Schulz said Munis received sniper training from the military, but Forster said she didn't know whether he did.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Cheyenne Police Department at (307) 637-6524.
Idiotic headline. Sounds like the shooter was singing or the woman was shot for singing badly. The writer, like so many others, must have slept through Journalism 101.
And to continue.... what's with the plural "gunmen" when it should be "gunman" linked with the plural "shoots"... and spell check would have at least caught "husban".... sigh... With so many mistakes, are we sure this event ever happened?
A pic of the suspect/husband.
can shoot and sing at the same time ... no extra range time needed there!
Is this report out of the Twin Cities ?
Well scratch the promotion, (if he is indeed the shooter).
Dang, this guy was gooooood. que Gene Kelly Music...
He's shooooting in the bar
He's singgggging in the bar

File under “Eats, shoots, and leaves”. How a professional journalist at a major news organization could have that tenuous a grasp on the most basic grammatical skills is baffling.
A pic of the suspect/husband.
He's pretty.
And people think Simon is too tough on contestants.

Writer probably went to J-school at U of W-Madison, the Berkeley of the Midwest, where they have their priorities straight: Social justice first, education second. </sarcasm>
They changed the img. It was a pic of the suspect.
I wondered if that’s what happened. I put a copy on tinypic and posted that, in case they decided to change it again. LOL
The foul creature to whom that slimy task generally falls is commonly the desk or city editor, though the assignment can vary with the organization.
The poor goof at the AP suffers enough from his lousy pay and dreams of making it in the magazine or TV newswriting rackets, so kindly put the blame where it's more deserved.
He probubly went to publuck skewl.

On the other hand, you can bet they'll waive his annual rifle qualification at Camp Guernsey....
