Idiotic headline. Sounds like the shooter was singing or the woman was shot for singing badly. The writer, like so many others, must have slept through Journalism 101.

Gunmen Shoots Woman While Singing In A Bar - Police Are Looking For Husban, A Trained Sniper And to continue.... what's with the plural "gunmen" when it should be "gunman" linked with the plural "shoots"... and spell check would have at least caught "husban".... sigh... With so many mistakes, are we sure this event ever happened?

Writer probably went to J-school at U of W-Madison, the Berkeley of the Midwest, where they have their priorities straight: Social justice first, education second. </sarcasm>

Having worked on and off for newspapers from 1970 or so I can cheerfully tell you that the writer who puts a story together- and, as in this case, in the AP's usual putrid *pyramid style*- is generally not the one responsible for slugging the headline to the story.
The foul creature to whom that slimy task generally falls is commonly the desk or city editor, though the assignment can vary with the organization.
The poor goof at the AP suffers enough from his lousy pay and dreams of making it in the magazine or TV newswriting rackets, so kindly put the blame where it's more deserved.
