When garishly-colored, giant representations of female genitalia are proudly hung outside of theaters hosting "The Vagina Monologues", anyone who objects is instantly labeled "hateful", "anti-woman", "heterosexist" etc. etc.
However, it seems that anyone who has an objection to something that only looks like male genitalia if you have an EXTREMELY wild imagination is taken quite seriously and any objections to it are treated with the gravest respect.

You can find this kind of symbolism anywhere you look for it.

What do you think Muslim spirals on buildings, the Pope’s hat, and a hundred other relgious symbols signify, and that’s just religion.

It no more looks like a phallic symbol than the Washington Monument. Some people have a really warped imagination.

I think some people thrive on being offended. (rolling eyes)

People who take offense at things like this are normally paranoid busybodies with way too much time on their hands. However, in this case, I’m thinking they have a point. Those things really are just wrong.
