[Soaring Feather]

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Years ago we had a tremor go through our area, it happened at 6:00 AM. I will never forget that feeling, my poor cat’s eyes got as large as saucers when he felt the tremor. Scary stuff.

Red Flowers

I had met you on a day when red flowers
Stormed a hesitant sky. I couldn’t understand then
The red saree, the red bindi and your red bangles,
Abrasions scarring a river that I had never known
The red tram that took us to Park Street, broke through
Your smile and small talk. Drinking tea of chipped cups,
Your red lips, you knew I yearned to write of subterfuges and shadows
In a rundown café closing the sun.
Whispers of a red flower on another sudden day.

My personal rule for poem searches is that they must be positive and upbeat. There lay the rub; for some reason positive red flower poetry seems rare.

The sun finally found it way through the clouds, still feels like a rain forest without the steamy, hot humidity.

I guess I am more of a mood freak LOL. Maybe spontaneous is a better word. Much of the time when I poem mine I am barely awake, takes me a long time to shed the night mentally. I like to hold on to the happy dreams as long as I can. ;)
