My Dragonfly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Revisiting a Childhood Dream
Amid the bitter seas of ancient time
I sail a gallon made of a daydream
and chance the wild surf I deem
here where my thoughts do rhyme
Black sand beaches on a marooners isle
and gales roar, in a lightening scarred sky
where gold is found in places wry
gutted castles, those rotted piles
Friend and foe, we toast in rotgut rum
and salute the outcome of our dream
throwing gems to wenches as they scream
celebrating with us, though they think us dumb
Oh to be a pirate upon the bounding Main
and sail the seas of yesteryear but once again
with friends now long gone in historys din
but if we did, some would say we werent sane

Good morning Soaring Feather. My but you are up early this morning. I was considering frying some eggs, pork chops and potatoes O’brien but because I woke up late I had to settle for Fig Newtons, Banana and lots of coffee to get me started.

Good Morning Everyone,
I have a staff meeting to go to (blech) so my breakfast will consist of a cup of coffee and a slice of breakfast pizza I grab on the way in.

Good day to you. Well, the menu sounds good, love fried pork chops and taters, lots of hot coffee.
I’ll have to eat some of your Fig Newtons, I forgot to buy them while shopping.
To: Lost Dutchman
Good morning to you. Can’t bet pizza for breakfast, better than nothing. :)
Have a grand day.

Fritttata O'Brien...Yummy.... this what you are talking about??
To: Soaring Feather
Yes, that is it. Kind of makes my Fig Newtons meaningless. LOL. Looks delicious. If I stare at it much longer I will need a new keyboard. I’m off to the races. Have a great day.

Botany In Action
Christopher Joslyn
This morning I found you before the rain,
Before a shower, before makeup and hairspray,
Before you made your breath like mint,
Before morning prayer, soap, earrings, and perfume,
Before hot water, breakfast and a cigarette, when
You were six brown leaves dancing in the wind
This morning I found you before the phone rang,
Before the first bill was paid, before your impatiens woke to thirst,
Before you cleaned rough white crystals of sleep from the corner of your eye,
Before you took any medicine, before you looked in any mirror,
Before your life began to need you, when
You were smooth stones at the bottom of a cold, fast-moving stream
This morning I found you before you touched the powdered wing of your own early beauty
With an attempt to be beautiful.
Your hair a million unmapped directions, a survey of the wildness of sleep,
Your body rising, falling with your breath, before you dressed in different rhythm.
This morning I found you when you were botany in action,
Partly bud and partly bloom, scarlet flower drinking air and light.

The sea is a mistress
bitter and sweet
she offers adventure, a horizon
and for many a poor lad
the only way to make a living
She has broken backs, hearts, and many a wedding vow
but also has enriched many more
From the fisherman who leaves for days at a time
to the commissioned freight hand or fighter
gone for years
Vestiges in our vocabulary
Topside, aloft, and the widows walk
she will draw a man away
bringing him back better, worse
or not at all
Perhaps this is why her music, art, and stories
become prized to those who collect them
treasures in their own right
and an integral part of the human mosaic
Yes, the sea is a mistress
and a constant magnet for, dreamers, poets
and those fortunate enough to have been born
under a water sign

A Sailors True Love
The sea, she be a moody wench I says old son
fer she be strong of will and oft a temper hot
with storms so bad ye cant stay in yer cot
and ye just hang on till shes finally done
Deepest green with touches ablue
her bodice trimmed in foamy white
shes got a rolling gait alright
like hips aswinging she carries you
But watch her moods me boy and well
fer shes a woman after all so changeable
one moment calm the next a tempest full
from sweet lass to something dark and fell
Yet she is a giving love says I from experience
I remember days of sun and wind, the peace there
the wonder of diamond stars upon her bosom fair
a far place without confining border or fence
The sea eternal, a temple to the flow of time anon
a humbler of the arrogant and proud among men
and ever so its truly been as such and will again
for that is the magic of the sea till time is gone

You’re most welcome. Don’t you just love it when something you read triggers your muse to write, I know I get very excited when it happens for me.
