LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A teen whose feet were severed at Six Flags' Kentucky Kingdom has had one foot reattached according to a statement released by her family.
The family of Kaitlyn Lasitter, 13, whose feet were cut off when The Superman Tower of Power malfunctioned at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom last month, issued a statement updating the details of her medical condition Tuesday.
The statement reports that Kaitlyns right foot has successfully been reattached at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she remains in stable condition.
We were not able to reattach the left lower extremity due to the severity of the injury, Dr. Douglas Weikert said in the statement. Things are progressing as expected over this first 10 days.
The statement also reiterated a detail reported in the familys first public announcement, claiming that no representatives from Six Flags have attempted to contact them since Kaitlyns injuries. Six Flags has since denied that claim.
Kaitlyns parents, Randy and Monique Lasitter, also thanked the community for its support, and they thanked the doctors who are working on their daughter.
We look forward to Kaitlyns recovery and getting back to some sort of normalcy in our lives in Louisville, the parents said in the statement. Without the support of our close friends this could have been a much more difficult situation to handle.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the accident continues. Officials from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture said earlier this week that it could take many more weeks to determine exactly what caused Kaitlyn's injuries.

Poor thing. Thirteen years old — what a horrible age at which to go through something disfiguring like that.
Yes. We should all send greeting cards to cheer her up. If she got a mountain of them from all around the world, surely it would help lift her spirits!! I know I’m sending one ... hope y’all do as well?
Not my strong point...I still have thank-you cards to send out for baby gifts (my daughter is five months old already)...She'll get a prayer from me for sure though! ;)
And she’s beautiful! Congratulations! (I always keep a load of greeting cards and stamps right handy by the front door so I can do that anytime. Otherwise, it’s a lost cause. And it’s such a simple thing to do. In these days of easy emails, it’s nice to get a card with a handwritten note. (leftover habits from gramma, bless her lil Irish heart!)
This is one of those cases that’ll be years in the courts. And when she wins, it won’t put things to rights, but it will help her to cope a little easier with the handicapping condition she’s been left with. I don’t think I’d be too keen to ride an amusement ride anymore. Not that I ever was.
I am not saying this is the reason this happened, but many times bad things happen to us now, so good things can happen later.
I know one thing, if a Son of God came up to me and restored my missing limbs, I would be much more inclined to listen and obey their instructions.
Matthew 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
A heavy cable snapped and hit her ankles and legs like a lethal bullwhip. They don't know why the cable snapped and so this is what they are investigating.
Include the word PATIENT in that first line along before her name.

I'm sure they're assessing how far out their bottoms are hanging out and how can they duck and cover ...
Oh was that the nicest thing in the world to do!! Thank you so very much! God bless you!

This message going out to Kaitlyn in tomorrows mail. It’s covered with yellow butterflies and blue & purple flowers.
Sorry to Hear About Your Accident,
Kaitlyn
Though accidents will happen in spite of all we do,
It’s a shame one had to happen
To a person nice as you...
But everyone is hoping
That it won’t be very long
Until you’re up and out again
Feeling well and strong!
T, C & C
I continue to pray for her healing.
Blessings,
trussell
If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.
