For example, Jobs may have a passion for taking care of the environment. He has been told over and over that the left takes care of the environment while the right doesn’t care. Of course, we know the reality is the left’s approach is just to demand ‘someone else’ (ie the government) do it versus the right who takes personal responsibility in their day to day lives.
Maybe, coming from the late Hippie era, Jobs hates war, that’s understandable. But, he may have the false notion that the left ‘hates’ war and the right ‘loves’ war.. again, another false stereotype. The right doesn’t love war, but we understand the alternative is often far worse. It is like chemotherapy. The process is awful, but the alternative is far worse.
I could go on and on about the false stereotypes that people buy into, be it from guilt or savvy marketing...
Food for thought, there.
Don’t fall for this guy’s tripe, he’s a big supporter of green party moonbat Richard Stallman who believes in giving free technology to communists which fuels their rants against US billionaires.
very informative posts! many conservatives are afraid to call themselves environmentalist because other conservatives associate that with the green party (this is very easy to do as thats how the MSM users the term. The Bible calls on us to be good stewards to the earth and their is nothing unchristian or leftist about doing just that so long as its done with balance.
I have several friends who believe every line in the BAD AMERICAN rant posted frequently on FR but who still always vote for the liberal.
I really just don’t understand it so have to consider them vapid politically.
^^^^^^^^^^^IMHO, there are a lot of liberals who live conservative principles but dont believe they are conservatives because of the false stereotypes associated with the Right and the Left.^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I agree. I’ve observed the same thing. I’ve noticed that most of these false notions come from the liberal media. It wasn’t until about a decade that their monopoly was broken, and it isn’t until recently that their broken monopoly has amounted into something significant and nationwide.

I thing guilt is a measurable quotent here, but I think this will probably speak best for what I mean about false notions being upheld by the media.

This would fall under the savvy marketing umbrella.
You’re right with your theory as most people’s knowledge base goes no further than basic stereotypes (e.g. Bill O’Reilly). So if you want to be “cool” or “enlightened” no way can you identify yourself as a republican because they’re sexually repressed racists!
Steve Jobs SHOULD keep his politics to himself, he’s not supposed to TRY to alienate half of his potential customer base. He also has helped create legions a apple marxists, I hate those people!!
