Judging by the support pages on Apple.com the main problem is so many people are turning theirs on the system can’t get them service quick enough. I tried to port my dad’s number from Sprint to his iPhone, and it didn’t work. When I called AT&T they said they were too far backed up with porting for it to even take any more on. Not a bad problem to have, but pretty maddening for anyone who only has one phone if the old one quit working.

Too bad it’s with AT&T Wireless.
I sincerely hope APPL has put AT&T under a severe regime of Customer Service benchmark requirements.

I played with one at an ATT store yesterday. Of course, they were sold out, but they two on display. It is very impressive when you see it in person. The interface is very slick, but also very user-friendly.
Apple hit another one out of the park. This device will redefine mobile phones.
I predict we will see Jack Bauer using an iPhone on 24 next season.

Might as well be in a different solar system. It is great to see these young people with a piece of hip electronics in their hand as in former days they indicated adulthood by strapping on a sword.

What struck me wasn't just what a leap it is for the phone, but how it is almost guaranteed to ignite a revolution in computers and other devices with screens (ATMs, digital music players, and on and on). Important point here. There are still a lot of untapped opportunities for Mac OS X and cleverly designed hardware.

I would like to buy an iPhone but I’m concerned that once I own the most incredible, life-changing consumer device ever invented, there will be nothing left in life to aspire to and it will all be downhill from here.

It’s amazing reading all the comments from the jealous people and “naysayers” — about the iPhone. A lot of people just can’t stand an Apple success story. They did it with iPod and now they’re at it with iPhone. And..., they’re complaining about the Macs being sold like gangbusters to all the former Windows PC people. LOL...

For now... I will stick with my horse and buggy... them’s auto - mobile - carriages are nothin’ more than a rich mans toy.

Student and snowboarder David Chartier at the Unofficial Apple Weblog (www.tuaw.com) may have written the most over-the-top "first impressions" review. "I just need to get it out of the way: Words cannot describe how incredibly wonderful this thing feels to touch and hold," he wrote. "It is an absolute marvel of engineering. Gorgeous in every way." And: "Have I mentioned yet that this seems to be a device designed and engineered by angels? Because it is."LOL, maybe the iPhone is the Messiah? (as an Apple shareholder, I really, really hope it is).
