I remember after seeing the trailers for “Nemo,” I thought to myself, how could a movie about fish be interesting?

To this day it is still my favorite Pixar movie.

Weekend #1 accounts for the mandated MoveOn members smelling up the theatre seats. The second weekend is what matters.

I was really disappointed in ratatouille. Seems like everyone else liked it. I thought it dragged.....on and on.....with the same old thing.
-------

Isn't that true with most Pixar films though. Don't get me wrong, most of them are wonderful movies. But talking toys? For 2 hours? It gets old. Talking fish? For 2 hours? That gets old. And talking cars got very old after 2 hours.

But I really enjoyed Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and surprisingly, I even enjoyed Cars.

I kind of expect a Pixar movie to take an interesting element and run it into the ground. It's what makes Pixar, Pixar.

I haven't seen Ratatouille, yet. I don't know if I will. I'm not particularly moved by the commercials for it. But given what some people are saying about it on this thread, I'm a bit more inclined to see it. Though your review is more or less what I was expecting from what I've seen in the commercials.

Maybe I'll see it after I see the other movies I want to see.

Went to see “RAT” this Saturday and it was OK. Was not a waste of time or money. But one big reason I went to see it was the computer generated Paris scenes. I have been to Paris and some scenes are so lifelike I could swear I had stood in the exact same spot. Having said that many of those scenes are in the trailer so you can see a lot of that without paying for the movie.

for adults who love animation and a good story

My son is a computer animator, and he loved Ratatouille....told us he highly recommeded it!
(& he's very picky about movies)
..two of his friends work for Pixar.

Umm— my kids watch cooking shows. They like looking at food. But, we aren’t big rat fans either.

Glad you liked it. I expected to love it but just didn’t at all.

My siblings and I, when we were very young, used to watch The Galloping Gourmet because he would always cook weird stuff like rabbit and frog. We would wait for the moments when we could say "illlllll!" in unison.

That was back in the days when half of TV programs were in black & white, there were only three commercial networks, and PBS was known as NET, National Educational Television.

Maddoggit, I am really getting old.

What does the money it made have to do with its relative merits?
