EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - A man irritated by children throwing rocks at his house shot and killed a 9-year-old boy, police said Tuesday. Officers were called shortly Monday afternoon and found Demotric Moore with a gunshot wound to the neck. The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Officers saw Jonathan Watts, 50, inside his home, ordered him to the ground and arrested him.
"I've had it with these kids and the rock throwing," Watts said as he was being handcuffed, El Dorado police Capt. David Smith said.
Watts told officers that he'd thrown the gun away. Initial calls reported a man with a BB gun, Smith said.
The weapon was a shotgun, according to a police report.
Smith said police had been called to Watts' home on a number of occasions.
"Apparently, rock throwing had been an ongoing problem," Smith said. "Even on one occasion Watts had thrown a brick at a small child ... in retaliation for a child throwing rocks."

I sure am! Thanks. :)
One wonders whether Demotric’s parents were aspiring, yet confused, Egyptologists.
I’d have bought and imported one of those Israeli rock-throwing trucks that they retired about ten years ago. :)
I suspect that if they were literate enough to make the connection, their son wouldn’t have been out throwing rocks at people’s houses.
“Yo, Demotric, you sure this a good idea?”
“Yeah, man, don’t sweat it, them Palestinians been throwin’ rocks over in Israel for years and they gettin’ away with it!”
It’s sad, and it’s a total overreaction, but if the kids’ rock-throwing had been a constant problem at this guy’s house, “where were the parents?” is a very valid question.

He showed them. He won't have to worry about kids throwing rocks where he's going to be living now.
Maybe “Demo’tr’ic” is a contraction of “Democratic.”
Daddy’s in jail and momma’s on the corner?
