I've never posted anything like this, but....
Today's vote for cloture on Amnesty by 30 Republican Senators has convinced me that my conservative and constitutionalist politics are no longer compatible with the twisted and scheming machinations of the Republican Party.
This week I'll change my voter registration to Independent, until such time as a Conservative & Constitutionalist Party emerges from the ashes.
That's it for my opus. I'll of course stick around on FR, but as a committed conservative and not a Republican.
Interested to hear how others might be thinking right now.

Just got my new voter’s card a few days ago for Independent.

Today was a procedural vote. The real cloture vote is Thursday. There is still lobbying time. It's still pretty darned dangerous, and they are dissing Republicans by not coming clean and killing this monstrosity.
There's very little for Republican Senators to debate. The Z Visa is incredibly flawed, immoral, and dangerous to our country.

You?Just being ridiculous.
I personally think it's better to stay in the marginally more conservative party, but give them no money and read them the riot act whenever they call.

As often repeated:
We will have much more success pulling the Republican Party from the control of the globalist pseudoelites (and geting working men and women coming with us) than in forming a successful new party.

I left the party back in 2003. I am now a conservative independent.

One small problem with your action, not that I disagree with the sentiment. You will not find a candidate that will be acceptable coming out of the RAT party. If you think you have, then look again because they would be lying. Instead, you need to be active supporting the true conservative in the primary for the Republicans if you want a changce for them to make it into office. If dissatisfied Whigs had taken your advice, there would be no Republican party.

I’ve been on the PA website to see how to get a card to change my registration. Looks like I’ll have to call and have one mailed to me. I would stick around to vote for Duncan Hunter in the primary, but the Republican primary will be settled before PA votes, so may as well switch now.

Me too angkor. I’m a soon to be resident of Virginia and will be registering as an independent. I’ve already called Senator Warners office to let him know. Think he’ll care? (Don’t answer)

I've made about 150 attempts to call Warner over 3 days with the speed dialer. Always busy, and the one time I got through it was direct to hold for 10 minutes. I presume they're bucketing all calls to the main number.
His office did help us with (ironically) some INS bungling of wifey's naturalization approval, several years ago.

Not exactly Cambodia, but "Islands" magazine just published an article with their opinion on the 20 best islands to live on and one of them was Penang, Malaysia. Any comments?
