JOHN Travolta blames school shootings sprees on mind-altering prescription drugs rather than poor gun control.

The Pulp Fiction star claimed: “If you analyse most of the school shootings, it’s not gun control.

“It is psychotropic drugs at the bottom of it.”

Yet the most recent US school atrocity involved Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui, who was NOT on medication when he gunned down 32 people two months ago.

Travolta, 53, added: “I don’t want to create controversy. I’ve an opinion.”

Travolta follows the Scientology religion like actor Tom Cruise, who faced a backlash in 2005 when he criticised anti-depressant drugs.

He’s right. Government schools having been commandeered by the leftists and offshoot groups (feminists, gays) have been warping the minds of young boys for decades. And when they haven’t been able o fully extinguish the last vestige of masculinity, they finish the job by force feeding them mind altering drugs. If there is any sanity left in his nation, Government schools will be abolished...Delenda est!

Wow, that’s a link that will depress you just reading it. I was given Zoloft, and almost quit smoking entirely. I lost my insurance and could not afford the 107.00 per month to purchase out of pocket, so I weaned myself off. No nasty side affects.

Got insurance through the county. Was prescribed Paxil. Ended up flushing that crap down the toilet, because I had bad thoughts over my health problems. Yes, those kinds of bad thoughts. Luckily I’m 47, not 12. They put my son on Celexa when he was in his early teens. He carved his arms up with a razor blade. I threw it out.

I think all you can do is monitor your medication, or that of your loved ones to make sure that it isn’t doing more harm than good.

I don’t think he’s right here, but lenient gun laws aren’t to blame, either. The shooter(s) are to blame.

Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors, SSRIs, the drugs that a great many of the shooters in the school shootings were taking, are associated with serotonin syndrome, in which patients can become manic and violent among other symptoms, and serotonin withdrawal/discontinuation syndrome. The FDA said the drugs had to have black box warnings on them last year because later examination found an increase in suicidal ideation when the drugs have been started or the dose increased. The patients need closer monitoring in either of those situations for about 6 weeks.

Well, he’s not entirely wrong here.

They are passing Ritalin out like friggin candy to schoolkids. A bunch of us would’ve been targeted for drugs because we were quiet, or independent, etc. etc. - if Ritalin would have been around then.

Of course the shooters are personally responsible. But I also believe that being on those drugs may affect their perception and emotions and make things seem so much worse than they think they are.

Case in point: my 50 year old uncle is been getting a weekly shot for about 1/2 a year now to deal with hepatitis c from a tattoo shop he went to. A known side effect of this medicine is big time depression. They have to be watched really closely by other family members because this drug makes people so depressed they can go suicidal.

So it is not surprising that some of these many, many drugs they pump into kids distorts how they feel about things and make things seem hopeless even though they really are not.

The last 2 shooters may not have been on drugs - but the vast majority have - drugs like Prozac - that have long been known to be dangerous, particularly for young people. - and has known side effects like suicide. rage, delusions and violence.

I've been following it for years. John T. is hardly the first one to make the connection.

There has been a plethora of information and warnings from physicians etc - but the drug companies have deep pockets and dominate the field of lobbyists in DC -

Just think of all the prescription drugs in the past few years that have finally been recalled after killing thousands of people. Why were they ever allowed in the first place - MONEY and INFLUENCE. If you think the FDA is looking out for you - you are naive to the max Do some research. I am amazed at how many folk just jump the gun rather than first take advantage of the greatest access to information mankind has ever known - the Internet. GOOGLE is your friend.

That was a really bizarre movie. I don`t know how old you are, but to this day I can remember that flick clear as day watching it on TV with my parents where Travolta gets jealous because his friends were smoking pot and he couldn`t. They literally showed smoking pot as being cool, and this was a family movie! My father was New York city cop at the time and his only comment was “Can you believe this crap?” LOL!

I couldnt bare to watch grease when it came out, it was a waste of film. The reason we have shootings as we do isnt because of a lack of “so called” gun control in which over a million people every year stop crimes because they posses a gun which the liberal media so conveinantly leaves out, Nor is it because of anti depressant drugs. Our morals have greatly declined and continues to do so year after year! and what are the overwhelming parraelled results the same mimicking imorality. If hollywood realy wants to get to the root of problems they could start by looking in the mirror.
