I saw a very cool looking German Shepherd mix last night. It had the deep piercing look into your soul kind of eyes, but it also had a longer snout, and was larger in height than a full bred German Shepherd.

The dog looked very friendly as it wagged its tail and looked out the window of its owner's car, as I hollered "hi puppy, good boy!" yet I still stayed far away. They may be the friendliest dogs in the world when their owners are around but I would not want to approach one any other time.

When the owner came back to the car, he said that he didn't want many people to know that the dog really is as friendly as it seems, except when a stranger comes anywhere close to the fence around their home.

We've had Shepherds all our lives, best dang dog ever. Very friendly, but also very protective.

She is truly part of our family.

I’m not afraid of GS’s but there is NO WAY I’d approach one that’s sitting in it’s owner’s car. NO way....

You did the right thing...
