Let try it again.. The first landing attempt will be at the cape at 2:18 pm est at the Cape.

I remember watching the very first shuttle land at Edwards back in 1981. From the time it was first discernible to the naked eye, to the time it touched down was on the order of 1 minute or less, if I remember correctly. It really is in a nose dive right up until it lines up with the runway.
