This is Mocassin Branch, a feeder creek for the St. John's River, in St. John's County, Florida. It is a great place to sit with a camera, and watch for birds and critters.

I sgudder to think what that branch was named after. I hear they are particularly aggressive.

They do have an attitude. You just have to pay attention to where you put your feet.

Looks hot and muggy to me. I can hear and feel the mosquitos just from the picture.

No skeeters, plenty of little fish to eat the larvae. This isn’t stagnant swamp.
