Singer may sue over radio show's "nut job" advertisements
JUNE 17--Britney Spears is threatening legal action against a Florida radio station that used a bald-headed photo of the pop star on billboards that appear to call her sanity into question. In a June 14 letter to Clear Channel Communications lawyer Donna Schneider, Spears's counsel claims that the billboards promoting the MJ Morning Show were "outrageous to the extreme" and demanded their removal. A copy of the Spears legal letter can be found below. The three outdoor advertisements, which are reproduced at right, pair a paparazzi photo of a bald, snarling Spears with a picture of WFLZ morning show host Todd Schnitt (who uses the air name MJ Kelli). They are headlined, "Total Nut Jobs," "Shock Therapy," and "Certifiable." According to the star's lawyer, Spears's "likeness has a multi-million-dollar value for authorized commercial exploitations" and, as a result, she is entitled to "very substantial damages" from Clear Channel. The MJ Morning Show airs on several stations across Florida. The Spears billboards, which first appeared last month, advertised the program in Tampa, Jacksonville, and Clearwater. (2 pages)

Why anyone cares or pays attention to these airheads is a very deep mystery.

We’re not supposed to notice the deliberate act of advertising; it’s supposed to be subliminal, normal background, simply the context of our complex daily lives.

Smile for the camera and say BRITNEY IS BALD!
At least they wiped the jelly from the electroshock terminals off her head before they took the picture. That was the decent thing to do.

Is “Bald” Brit Beaming Up To The Final Frontier?

Giving all the talk in the news today about the wayward ways of Britney Spears in the news today, consider the latest rumour, Britney is possible starring as the love interest in the possible upcoming relaunch of the dying film and televison series, “Star Trek”.
This rumour revolves around J.J. Abrams, the director of this possible film, who was spotted having lunch with a publicist of Britney Spears in Hollywood this week. That film has internet “buzz” as being a total makeover of the Trek franchise, with new people in roles made famous by the like of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy over forty years ago.
The question is would Spears be cast as a Deltan, which were bald and were heavily sexual. This race of aliens were highlighted in 1979’s “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”, in which the late Persis Khambatta played the role of Lt. Ilia. Many see Spears as a natural in the sexpot role.
Having a pop icon such as Britney Spears headline this movie, many insiders say it would be huge success, mainly for the simply curious, as Britney has shown no concern for science fiction in the past.
Giving all that is happening in Spears life, with divorce and rehab, it is impossible to easily accept this rumour. She has not acted since 2002, in which she recieved mixed reviews in “Crossroads”. But Hollywood is a town in which anything can happen, and one of those things could easily be Britney Spears saying “Beam me up, Scotty”.
I’ve seen the billboard several times. I smile each time.
I’m surprised Clear Channel would take such a legal risk.
