I wish we could just blame Congress.
Bush has been so far out in front on this issue he has to take the heat too.
He should “back off”. Instead, he pushes forward, or threatens to do so.
He has given up before, but this time is taking many other people down with him. The primaries will be bloody and we will all lose in the end. I wish the reason for his zeal on this bill were truly known. Martinez was forced on us here in Florida...Spector I did not want to see returned to the Senate...on and on. There must be a “big picture” that is not in focus for me.
When something does not “feel” right, it often isn’t!
If an armed invader was pouring across the Mexican border would we stand helplessly by wringing our hands and let the invaders take the country?
Whether the invaders are armed or unarmed, the result is the same. The invaders occupy territory, seize resources and change the laws, custom and language of the invaded country.
No civilized nation in the past has ever survived such a massive demographic shift as we are being subjected to.
And no great nation has ever been invaded by 12 to 20 million invaders. Even the Mongol Horde did not number that many.
Or, conversely, you might consider that there has been incrementalism on illegal immigration and the proposed legalization of so many illegals is the culmination of incrementalism starting from 1965’s immigration bill.
[[The illegals have their own protest planned:]]

Read this whole article please. They are planning more civil disobedience to try to intimidate America into giving away our country.
And now look who traitorous Billy “La Raza” Bratton is using to make sure that this civil disobedience is successful?
Sergio Diaz, a 30-year department veteran who is currently assistant commanding officer for the Special Operations Bureau, will replace Cayler Lee Carter Jr., who was the highest ranking police official at the scene of the clash.
LA is becoming stinking rotten Mexico faster than you can say “Taco Bell”
Where is ROVE hiding anyway? Is his advice being ignored?
What, expect them to do their jobs?
Yup... put up all 800+ miles of it first... eradicate the 'sanctuary-cities' and 'anchor baby' enablements and then we'll talk. No trust & verify on this issue. We agreed to that in 1965 and 1986 and got hosed on both occasions.
“At the time of Ghengis Khan’s birth in the 1160’s, they were a loose group of about 30 nomadic tribes in a constant state of turmoil. They are believed to have numbered between 2 and 3 million.”
So you are right, the number of illegals was about the same as the Mongol Horde in the 1986 amnesty, and is now 5 to 10 times as large.
“Send contributions directly to solid patriotic candidates. “
There is another thread about conservatives “leaving the GOP”
I think you are on to something here, however, the solution would be for conservatives to organize a separate funding entity within the GOP. This would influence the GOP more than witholding contributions, or sending them to alternate candidates- because there would be a visible sign of the support that conservative positions have within the GOP.
I have no idea how this might be accomplished, only that I am sure it can be accomplished. If there were an alternative place to send political contributions - not a PAC but within the GOP itself, then the party can be brought back toward a more conservative postion.
This would also force the GOP to actively reject conservatives if they wanted to stop this - providing a funding base for an alternate party if this unfortunate eventuality were to occur.
Right now if and individual, or a corporation wants to gain political influence, you have to donate to Satan, or Satan’s little brother. A “conservative GOP” alternative would be a sure test of conservative political legs. I’d like to know if they can truly stand by themselves in todays political environment.
Just sayin’......
The Paris Hilton/L.A. County Jail thing has made me wonder why there are any illegals in our jails and prisons in the first place. Why aren’t they deported immediately after arrest? Since they are not citizens, why should they get due process? For the Mexican illegals, there should be an IMMEDIATE bus trip back. For the Caribbeans, the Guatemalans, the Chinese, and all the others, there should be a giant building at LAX for IMMEDIATE Con Air flights back to the country of origin.
For any of TROP crowd, there should be documentation and interrogation before the flight back to the sand dune of origin.
First, we need to stop the flood. Next, we need to start bailing. Get the illegals out of this country. All 12 or 20 or 30...the number doesn’t matter, the message does.
Bush is a HUGE disapointment!!!
1. He leads the charge for amnesty.
2. Fails to enforce the borders and build the fence.
3. Supports giving 2.5 trillion of dollars to illegals, yet can’t fund Social Security.
4. Nevers vetoes a spending bill.
I could go on & on, but I’ll stop after listing just 4 things.
I wouldn’t vote for him again even if he was able to run again.
That’s a good letter. I suggested to my Senators (California) that they needed to get REAL jobs, and I would be helping them. hahah.
Senators cannot be recalled. Wish they could!
One other idea; start deporting all illegals who are arrested for committing a crime, and charging a $5,000 fee before they are deported - otherwise they sit in a jail near the border. This would be like a pre-payment on the $5,000 amnesty fee in the Kennedy-McCain bill.
Guess Bush feels he has nothing to loose. Man , did he stab me in the back .
Impeachment isn’t an option with just a year and a half left in his presidency. It puts too much strain on the nation and would divert attention from important
issues like immigration.
WE must be vigilant and block every attempt that is brought up supporting amnesty.
Maybe Bush is trying to please those who have been hating him all this time . Sort of clearing his soul . I don’t know , something is really wrong. My buddy suggest that the Left has something BIG on Bush and they are holding it over his head . He may be right .
