This is Part I of a three-part series.
No one in their right mind would consider Jerome Corsi a liberal or a leftist. Corsi received a Ph.D. from Harvard University in political science in 1972 and has written many books and articles, including co-authoring with John O'Neill the No. 1 New York Times best seller "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry."
The 2004 book was a defining character study of presidential candidate John Kerry. "Unfit for Command" may have been the single biggest reason John Kerry is not president today and George W. Bush is. He is also author of "Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians."
Corsi is not a conspiracy nut, and he does his homework on the various issues he tackles. I suggest that the American people of all political orientation give full attention to a major event that frames immigration policy, the Dubai Ports deal and badly negotiated trade deals, as well as the sellout of American interests by our favorite politicians of both parties - and no party.
Corsi and Minuteman co-founder Jim Gilcrist wrote the book "Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Borders." The book is a timely investigation into how our nation's southern border is disintegrating into violence and chaos, human smuggling, drug running and incursions by Mexican military and police into U.S. territory.
Researching and writing the book forced him to ask some hard questions about the WHY of our porous border and the ultimate goal of those who are allowing it to remain a national disgrace of lawlessness and corruption.
In any event, I decided to interview Dr. Corsi after reading an article he wrote for Human Events Online: "President Quietly Creating 'NAFTA Plus'." [ http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=15059 ]
His responses to my questions were astounding.
During the interview, Dr. Corsi told me that everyone is asking the obvious question about open borders. Why is the Bush administration failing to deal with them in any effective manner except to propose "guest worker amnesty." But most people don't pursue the answer to that question, perhaps because their instincts tell them they will not like the TRUE answer. As a conservative who supported the Bush administration in the past, Corsi found the answer difficult to take.
His conclusions and answer to the question of why nothing of any consequence is being done about our porous borders is startling and disturbing: "We are close to a coup d'état by the executive branch. What I have come across in my investigation reminds me of the plot in the blockbuster '60s book 'Seven Days in May' ... having to do with a military coup plot against civilian government. The conclusions I arrive at seem more in line with some fantastic plot line of the TV series '24'."
Corsi related to me that the most recent coup attempt against our nation, system and sovereignty is not being conducted by the U.S. military. Rather, it is being achieved through men who place commerce and commercial interests at the top of what mankind is about. It is very Hegelian and Marxist, at its center encompassing a belief that people are primarily motivated by economics and materialism, that trade and commerce and having material goods are the primary factors in creating a peaceful world. The policymakers who hold those attitudes have had immense influence on George W. Bush.
Immigration, open borders, trade deals, all of it is part and parcel of an attempt to create a North American Union. In its present form it is known as The Security and Prosperity Partnership signed by the "three amigos," Bush, Fox and Canada's Paul Martin at Waco, Texas, in 2005.
The idea for the North American Union has been floated for a couple of decades. It went into hyperdrive after the Cold War. At that time, powerful groups including the guiding lights in the Council on Foreign Relation, government, business and the denizens of the Beltway's Iron Triangle came into their own. Last year's report by a CFR task force entitled "Building a North American Community" is the outline for the North American Union, which they would like to have up and running by 2010.
The task force is quite clear that one of the major goals of this effort is to remake boundaries around the three North American nations. Individual countries will relate to a supranational parliamentary or governing system rather than to their own. National governments will still have limited power but not so much sovereignty. Immigration, in their ultimate plan, will mean open borders and a vastly diminished importance of citizenship in the three nations.
This is simply a new brand of old feudalism being set into motion by none other than the hero of so many Republicans, George W. Bush.

Excellent post! I think that paragraph nails it. There's no question that the three nations are interdependent from the standpoint of natural resources: oil, water, natural gas, timber, etc. There are good reasons to mobilize American technology and business know-how to help raise living standards throughout the continent, and to create efficient trade and labor policies that benefit all.
But the method of imposing this New World Order is unconstitutional and totalitarian. It stinks of a collusion of oligarchs, corporate and aristocratic, against the interests and sovereignty of the American people. Big things are stirring while the proles' attention is diverted by Paris Hilton, American Idol, Rosie, ad nauseum.
This anti-American sovereignty bill posing as an "immigration" bill is the beginning of the end of our nation. Fight it, and the oligarchs who created it, or lose everything worth having.

I don’t know how to say this tactfully so I’ll just jump right in. All this was predicted thousands of years ago in the Word of God. One World government. From that will rise a world leader who will be charasmatic enough to fool the people into thinking he can solve all the worlds problems. Antichrist. Truth is, nobody can solve them or prolong them or stop whats going to happen from happening. Its already been written for thousands of years.
You’re making a lot of assumptions. Not trying to flame you, but assuming that Mexicans in this country are getting a good education is naive. The public education system in this country is abysmal to start with, and to compound it there has been a strong push in recent years for bilingual education. Why? Precisely because our elites don’t want the Mexican underclass in this counrty to be well educated. Keep educating them in Spanish and you guarantee that they can’t better themselves, all under the guise of being compassionate and culturally sensitive.
Hispanics have a 40% high school dropout rate. There is no push to truly educate these people, because there is no political or economic incentive in doing so. Keep ‘em dumb, and they can be easily manipulated. Educate them, and they’ll make trouble.

Thank you Fred for posting it and I wish to thank our Aussie friends for their support of “We the People”. Our elites in Washington need reminding by our Western allies we so drastically influenced in earlier times about the value of freedoms and that this is worth dying. All of us must be reminded also that first and foremost preservation of such freedom and our prior national values such as “love your neighbor as thyself” and “what better honor to die on behalf of friends” is FAR more important then the god of materialism we see prevelant in our nation.
Australia is much more free then America is today. It is not the same country it was growing up in the 70’s. It is more like a socialist republic like Rome, where corrupt Senators sell out the people like Judas for 40 pieces of silver to build more palaces. I live in New Hampshire, the supposed ‘Live Free or Die’ state. What a joke. Feminazis rule our states’ judicial system, social democrats from Massachusetts have flooded our state for cost effective real estate and law enforcement focuses on petty affairs such as driving offences (do agree with DWI enforcement) domestic squabbles and weed smokers instead of murders, theft and other serious crimes. Why? Because the petty crimes drive massive amounts of state revenues.
Unlike the Roman era however, this is the information age and We the People are empowered at the end of the day with arms and information to change such national suicidal policies of the elite socialists.
Much pain will come to correct our current course but Lord Jesus Christ whom so many of us adore will help give us the will to remember the good principles I mentioned and this will allow us to defend our nation from enemies and resume good works for our people and the rest of the world.
IMO the old America has a lot to offer us, but we have to write it off as something of the past while we build a new country of our own from the bottom up, in little everyday ways.
And citizens are in fact losing the right to govern themselves in once sovereign European nations. Poland was assured when they joined the EU that they could retain their own laws on things such as abortion and homosexuality. That lasted about two weeks, and then the EU began screaming that Poland would have to change their laws to fit the pro-abortion, pro-homosexuality EU agenda.
Throughout Europe, policy is increasingly decided by bureaucrats, judges, and others unaccountable to the people. The North American Union would be no different.
Right now, the NAU seems like something that could never happen. Surely it must just be “right-wing extremists” who fear such a thing. But these things evolve. They’re rarely imposed immediately in one big policy decision.
The current immgration policies of our country make it almost inevitable. Those policies are to either keep the status quo (which is very bad) or pass the Kennedy-Bush bill (even worse). Either way, in a couple of decades or so our country will have tens of millions of additional unassimilated Mexicans living here. Our leaders and our media will casually announce that we’re de facto merged with Mexico already, and that our only two options are to maintain the status quo or to “bring the U.S.-Mexican alliance out of the shadows” by merging the two countries.
It’s the same tactic that they pulled on us with immigration. For decades they failed to enforce our immigration laws, allowing millions of illegals to come in. Now they tell us we already have de facto amnesty, so we may as well legalize the illegals and “bring them out of the shadows”.
Scylla on the one hand, Charibdes on the other.
“I read the article and it seems to make a lot of sense. Its exactly like I said, would protect out borders, easier to keep out terrorists, etc. If it is exactly as written, what is wrong with the concept? And no, I am not pro NAU. I just recognize that we live in a changing world and probably need to do something different so we can be better equipped to compete with the rest of the world. If I had my druthers, America would stay the same as it always has. But I think everyone knows its not going to. Whats wrong with being prepared? Mexico has oil and Canada has huge amounts of timber and land. America is rich but crowded. Canada has a conservative leader and I assumed Mexico had elected a conservative, too. I’ll net it out based on my opinion. All of this is transnational thinking. It’s not the premise but the timing and the devices used to acheive such unrealistic goals at the moment. First we need to reinstall good values of freedom and prosperity of all over elitist and materialistic thinking. Judeo-Christian principles of fairness and freedom in other words. Then we can fix our massive domestic and foreign problems such as border enforcement, energy and terrorism. After that, more true benevolent programs as what we did to help the people of Ethiopia (We are the World) program of the late eighties can be resumed.
The best democratic-spreading programs are not tied with a political domestic or foreign agendas, they are Judeo-Christian principles of helping the poor for that reason and that reason only. Look at Ethiopia now. On the front lines of terrorism on our side because they now have ample food supply because of our benevolence. Such nations will influence other nations of the benefits of such principles we can and should emulate. In the information age, much of the world has computers and the Internet. We no longer have to have costly military presence accompanied by democratic political policies by occupying other nations. The idealogies of freedom and God given rights to a better life will spread on their own. That leaves our enemies who unfortunaly are too closely aligned in idealogies of power and greed with the elites in Washington to effectively come up with a military solution for. But timing of transationalism of one global world is too early to discuss or attempt to create at this point, because we as the USA as the biggest global influencer must get our own heads on straight about such matters and become a benevolent, self-sacrificing nation once again FIRST. The seeds of democratic idealogies must also mature by the Internet must also grow into maturity and leadership which in my opinion will takes decades, considering the Internet and access to global information is a recent occurance.
My opinions are much like the writer of this article whom uses nuetral research to boil things down to basics of solvable problems instead of elite politicians who are blinded by power and greed, focused on the complex effects of looking at the root basic causes of the complex effects of such blindness.
Only because the America of legend has faded away, inasmuch as it was a reality in the first place... and it's up to us to discover/learn freedom and community starting from wherever we are now, not as utopian sovereigns but rather looking to the accumulated wisdom of the ages for guidance.

Try more like 60 million armed citizens but more importantly in the instant information age, the means to roll back the elites power in Washington overnight. We the People is stronger then ever because of this and they can’t sneak anything by anymore nor can they collaberate their collective politic power over the 300 million of us ever again. Some pain will come of correcting this, but what good work does not include such self-sacrifice?

And then We the People will take on the self-serving, feel good generation of elite liberals to restore our country. We will likely face WWIII because our enemies know while we fix ourselves, it will be time to make their moves against the rest of the world. We will then join in that fight also like in WWII. Too bad those at the top can’t look in the mirror, pick up a bible or learn to pray.

I have read thread after thread about what needs to be done but no clue as to how to get them to actually do it. Lots of bellyaching but no ideas as to how to get it done. I think even the dumbest person in FR (and that would probably be me) can come up with foolproof ways to end this mess and get America back on track. The best two I have heard which I could get on board with are take back our party and prayer. The prayer is easy. Taking back our party, not so easy. Haven’t we tried to get good people through in the primaries and get them elected? We can’t make people vote for them. What is the solution?”
We the People still hold the power and despite the accelerating break down of the rule of law because of the elites in Washington, still hold the power at the end of the day. Yes, prayer is key. Also key is to have a massive PR campaign to educate Americans on values. 911 was a wake up call for a time and I saw people going back to a God, family, country philosophy. This kept our nation together and we were united temporarily against a common foe. You have to address the core basics of why some Americans are selling us out and being traitorous. Perhaps for some, they will never learn but by and large the majority of Americans are decent people. It is a shift in focus we need, first back to values and then a national goal as big as the Apollo program (space exploration) such as eliminating death perhaps called “the Eternity Project”. Our technology is less then 100 years away from humans being able to save our concienceness onto machines and project such conciesness as energy many times faster then the speed of light. Such a project benefits all of mankind, is scriptually supported as fact that it will occur and keeps our heads on something good rather then fighting monotony on this plant on sex, greed, power and drugs.
That’s assuming the premillenial dispensationalist understanding of the end times is accurate. (I don’t think it is. I’m a post-millenial/ prophetic & apostolic dominion type.)
Personally, I’m going to occupy territory for the Lord, as He commanded us. I’m not ginving any ground to Satan- I have the authority of Jesus Christ, as priestly royalty. His Word is in my mouth, and His anointing is upon my head.
The enemy only has the authority the church grants him, through ignorance or through tacit approval. Satan won’t get any of that from me.

There is no way possible way to make such a thing without each nation loosing a great part, if not the majority, of its sovereignty.
There would be no reason to implement that kind of union but to cede power to a central entity superimposed on top of the nations.

I'd just like to expand on that for a moment, if I may.
If we were to start to cozy up with Mexico, what would be the result? I mean, what, in the end, would ACTUALLY take place? As you said, Mexico is a corrupt oligarchy. Mexico also has abundant natural resources; oil, minerals, thousands of mile of beaches which could become resorts, and a hard working, reasonably well education population. Why is it not a paradise already? Answer: the oligarchy. And if we cozy up to Mexico and start dumping money into it, is this going to change things? Simply adding our resources to their resources? NO. The only thing that is going to happen is that all that money is going to go to the oligarchy. What's going to stop them? The same thing that has stopped them so far? (rhetorical, sarcastic question)
If we were to just make Mexico a 51st state, and take over the administration of the country, then okay, I could almost buy that idea. But would that happen? No. Why not? Why should it? Question; would this new arrangement be more or less beneficial to the oligarchy? Answer; less beneficial; why ruin a corrupt, pliable, good-thing? Or, another question, what would be the most beneficial arrangement to the oligarchy? Answer: an arrangement where they would retain their "sovereignty", yet still get "assistance" from the United States. And so, this is what they will push for. Our oligarchy will be glad to give them this, because in return, they get a flood of cheap labor, essentially destroying labor unions forever. Both countries would have a ruling oligarchy with a permanent underclass (complete with cheap narcotics from Mexico to help keep them in line).
Okay, maybe that last line was a little over the top, but honest-to-God, I just don't see this thing playing out any other way, particularly in light of the current socialist-oligarchy alliance (that would be Kennedy and Bush). I'm sorry, but until the government of Mexico gets reformed, it's just going to remain a third world pit. And any assistance that we give them is just going to go down some rat-hole, just like it did in Russia, and just like it is doing in Africa.
Build the fence, enforce the law, cut the PC crap, start being proud to be an American again. (/rant)
