A "screaming" Paris Hilton has been dragged off to serve her full 45 days in jail. Reportedly screamed and called to her mother as she was taken away. More.
OK, let’s try and get some perspective here - Mrs. Winkler, who shot her Minister husband dead with a shotgun, will probably only end up serving about two months.

“I can think of no other person that has been let out of jail and then returned FOR ANY REASON.” That’s just it. How many people do you know of that are let out of jail in defiance of the judge’s orders? I don’t know of such a case.
That has nothing to do with this. Fault the judge in that case but it shouldn’t get Hilton a pass. Hilton broke the law repeatedly.
as a lawyer, I can advise you that you are not considering the facts.
For a violation of DUI/DWI probation by driving while your license is suspended for that same DUI/DWI sentence, 45 days is NOT that dramatic or a departure. Given the multiple violaitons, I am surprised she did not get 60 days.
I have been in court and seen exactly these situations.
Often times judges have little or no discretion due to mandatory sentencing rules.
For example, a second DUI generally has a mandatory jail time included. Many states have prohibitions agains witholding adjudications in DUI/DWI pleas. A conviction plea is the only one allowed in a plea bargain settlement.
While we may argue about this case, the fact is your observations would have to be implemented at the legislative level in order to be equal to all. The only thing unusual in this case is the fact this has become a facinating case of equal justice applied to all vs special treatment for the celebrity.
I don’t know who righteous Freepers hate more: Paris Hilton or people who receive public assistance.
In a just world, Cynthia McKinney would have received that sentence for assaulting a police officer. Sandy Burglar would have received at least that sentence for obstruction of justice, etc.

And yes, in one point anyway, you are correct, the judge is at fault.
My aunt has lost everything she had in life due to some skanky barfly who ran into her while speeding thru a red light. My aunt was trapped for over 2 hours in her Cadillac (so this was a sturdy vehicle ... not a Volvo!) while they used the Jaws of Life to get her out. Her car was totalled, she went to the hospital, within 2 months she quit work, and became very ill from the stress of the incident. She’s now in a care facility permanently with no life left to her at all.
The barfly? She skipped away from court with no jail time, no insurance, only payments that she ‘has’ to make but never will.
No. I don’t think they were too hard on Paris. She flouted the system figuring her cute little pouty whining would win the judge over and he saw thru it and made her toe the line.
No, Ms. Hilton says more about our culture than this whole display.

Hey, I’m just pointing out that the “law” doesn’t meat out justice in many, many, instances.

She was pulled over by California Highway Patrol on Jan. 15. Officers informed Hilton she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive. She then was pulled over by sheriff's deputies on Feb. 27, at which time she was charged with violating probation.

Paris was already given probation for her initial case, the speeding and driving without a license was while she was on probation. Paris may not like it, but she dissed the judge repeatedly. My guess is the judge has had it with the prima donna. He is insisting on jail, she will be doing the time.
LOL! I don’t know who is more of a drama queen — you or Paris. I would hardly call 45 days — which will probably be 22 days if they can keep her sedated and complaint — is “off with her head.” The only things relevant to this case are whether or not she did the crime and whether or not the punishment for the crimes falls within the sentencing guidelines.

folks should look at whole this whole mess has devolved compared to others with EXACTLY the same charges
all of which started over a .08 DUI which was not even DUI until very recently
all this fascination with watching a rich brat suffer is unseemly to me...
