Checking in!

Thanks for your concern.

Things got a little hairy yesterday afternoon. Funnel clouds were sighted south east of us, moving in our direction. The storm tracking then switched, and the heavier storms went further north.

It got dark, and the clouds were whipping about right above the house. We got some wind, and rain, but that was about it.

Parts of northeast Wisconsin got hammered pretty good, but fortunately only minor injuries!

Thanks for your prayers Lysie!

We dodged the bullet here, but some places further north didn't fair as well.

Thank goodness there are only minor injuries.

Lots of prayers offered up yesterday, and everyday! ; )

Morning Granny!

Safe and sound here!

Gotta run and meet with a professor from our local university for an upcoming class we are teaching together.

Kids are back in school, and all is fine.

The storms hit parts of the area, but we escaped the brunt of it here. The town of Stevens Point, 3 miles north of us, took a pretty good beating, but it is still intact!

Thanks for all your prayers and concern. I am touched more than you know!

Good Morning All. I know what you’re talking about lysie, it’s going to be in the mid 90s for the next 7 days.

My tomatoes are going gang busters. My patio tomatoes are full of little green orbs. The tear drop tomatoes have so many tears, and the large tomatoes need help hold the maters, so I’m staking them. Wow, it’s amazing.

Quick hit and run. Haven’t read todays ATRW yet so this may be a duplicate but here’s the scoop on who defected:

Thanks to your incredible pressure on these Republicans, only 7 of those 27 ended up voting for the amnesty cloture tonight:

THE SELLOUT SEVEN
* Graham (R-SC)
* Hagel (R-Neb.)
Lugar (R-Ind.)
Martinez (R-Fla.)
McCain (R-Ariz.)
Specter (R-Pa.)
Voinovich (R-Ohio)

12 Senators from the Democratic side of the aisle joined in opposing the amnesty and huge increase in foreign workers:
Baucus (D-Mont.)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-Calif.)
Byrd (D-WV)
Dorgan (D-ND)
* Landrieu (D-La.)
McCaskill (D-Mo.)
* Pryor (D-Ark.)
* Rockefeller(D-WV)
Sanders (I-Vt.)
Tester (D-Mont.)
Webb (D-Va.)

Interestingly, Landrieu, Pryor and Rockefeller are up for re-election next year.

McCaskill, Tester and Webb unseated incumbent Republicans last year while promising to oppose amnesties. They upheld their promises tonight.

Bingaman, Boxer and Sanders are the surprises here. I’d be interested to know how they happened to end up on our side.

Dorgan and Byrd have been two of our staunchest allies on this one item for some time.

The one that blows my mind is BOXER. She had to have mega pressure from the folks in CA, that’s for sure!

Thanks sweetie, Fridays are usually more quiet than the rest of the week. Of course, if parents walk-in and want to discuss our services, then it can get quite busy.

Thanks for thinking of me. This afternoon I am trying to get out of here at 2:00 and Mr HOB and I have appointments at the chiropractor. He for an adjustment, and me to use a gift certificate he gave me for a massage from my last BD a year ago. LOL!! Think I should use it before this one rolls around, right?

I am anxiously awating your report on the smoker, that's intriguing.(sp?)

Molly, isn't it wonderful being able to meet and greet, and break bread with other freepers? Some day, either when you are here visiting family or we are there visisting, we'll get to meet in person!

Both of you have a wonderful time!
