I was thinking after I read the article, that if a woman’s partner is experienced enough to know the difference, maybe she should just find another man.

I actually put 95% of plastic surgery generally in that category.

I worked for years at a major University hospital and,as a result,I can tell you that there *is* a place for skilled plastic surgeons and hand surgeons (hand surgery is a sub-specialty of plastic surgery) in this country.There are many,many people who have serious deformities due to illness,injury or birth defect.

However,I would agree with you that there's quite a bit of plastic surgery done in this country that's driven solely by vanity and stupidity.

inability to wear tight clothing or take communal showers, or ride bicycles?

As a guy, I can't speak to how things in the genital area affect riding a bicycle for a female. I can say that getting the right support and padding so that everything is where it needs to be is important for a guy who is doing any serious cycling. If a woman tells me that she likes biking for exercise and is having problems because of something in that area, I'm not qualified to tell her that she is wrong.
