The Osmonds are reuniting this summer for a television special celebrating a half-century in the entertainment business.

All seven Osmond siblings - Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy - are scheduled to be on stage Aug. 13 and 14 for the show being videotaped at The Orleans Hotel Showroom, publicist Kevin Sasaki said from Los Angeles Thursday. Tickets for the live shows range from $75 to $125.

"The Osmonds 50th Anniversary, starring The Osmond Brothers, with special guests Donny, Marie, and Jimmy," will be broadcast on PBS stations in March of 2008.

"At first it was just a tribute to my brothers, but it came together as a celebration of everybody. It's out of control," Jimmy Osmond, the clan's youngest and producer of the PBS special, said Thursday.

He said it will be the first time since the 1980s that the family has performed together.

"We started so young you would think 50 years means we're a bunch of old guys. We aren't a bunch of old guys," he said, noting family members perform frequently before audiences young and old.

In their 50 years in the entertainment industry, the Osmonds have recorded 142 albums and starred in a variety of television shows, including ABC-TV's "Donny & Marie" variety show (1976-1979) which always opened with "I'm a little bit country, I'm a little bit rock 'n' roll."

Cool. Can we look forward to an endorsement of "homie" Mitt Romney and a hip hop performance of "One Bad Apple?"

Where did Donnie get those teeth, anyway?

Good for them. I am not crazy about them, but they do seem like a great family except for Marie who seems not able to stay married and is quite the embarassment to the family I am sure.

In March of 2008 Marie Osmond will be 48 years old.

Interesting age to be celebrating your 50th Anniversary of anything.

The oldest Osmond “kid” would be Alan, who’ll be 58 when the special airs.

OMG! I did a newspaper interview with the group in the late 50s at the old Hotel Utah when they were just little kids! Ahem! I was pretty young at the time too, but my how the years slip by!

When I was a youngster, we use to get an act come thru our local high school auditorium and put on a show, I was maybe 8 or 9 when I saw the Osmonds do a show there, another one I remember was George Goebel. The Wrestling shows were the most entertaining tho, at least for a kid at that age. ;-)

Good old Lonesome George! I remember his old TV show and it was the funniest thing I'd seen up to then. I think he spelled his name Gobel though -- don't want to confuse him with the Nazi propagandist.
