Payne...was ejected shortly before the cart hit the road beneath the cliff and died on impact...

Sadly for him, it appears as though he jumped at the end before impact, like a cartoon.

I have about the most twisted sense of humor of anyone but I am really suprised you people find this so funny.

I would guess he left behind a wife, some kids and grandkids.

Sad commentary.

You will find this on any thread where someone dies. It is rather said that people find an occasion like this to bring up their agendas.

You are guaranteed to see the typical references:
- darwin candidate
- SUVs ... some posters find the need to defend from the media’s secret plot against their SUVs
- illegal immigrants... seems the death is not quite as tragic if the person had a Spanish sounding name
- seat belts ... since a seat belt did not save that 1/100,000 victim, they must not be worth wearing
- smoking... well this one guy I knew smoked until he was 100 so smoking must be good for you.
- and of course a multitude of tasteless jokes

It’s not that I’m a picture junky, I just imagined the course being like those Redbull commercials where they do the “human powered flying machines” contest off cliffs. I wanted to see what sort of cliff didn’t have any safety railings in today’s age. I’m sure the family will be suing the municipality for lack of safety controls.

“Until about 4 years ago, I used to feel the same the same way about golf. Then my kids talked me into trying it. It’s a great game and a fun way to spend the day, and, for the most part, people who play golf are very courteous and friendly.”

As a recovering golfer, I only hope it’s not too late for an intervention. Please consult the following source for further assistance:

The idiot to sensible ratio on FR is now running at about 9 to 1.

Reports I saw on another thread were suggesting that he may have had health issues that led to this...stroked out or something of the sort.

You don’t retire at 65 from real estate in SoCal. I lived their for 8 years. While real estate is slow now any agent in his 60’s would have a great business built up and now reason to retire from it. Real estate is no something you do all your life and simply quit.

I would guess he had health problems that forced him out of the business. He must have had a stroke or heart attack and black out.

If he had ran a 4 wheel dirt buggy off a cliff while shooting off his .50 cal sniper rifle then the sicko’s making fun of him would instead be trying to set up a fund for his family.

For those of you who find this humorous, think again. My bro in law was his friend, and he was there. It did not happen like reported. If any of you have played golf you know when the cart has it’s brakes are on, you must hit the accelerator to unlock the brakes and the cart jumps forward. He was over the curb and when he hit the pedal he careened over the cliff. He was happily married for over 30 years and set to retire. This is a very, very sad event for him and his family and friends. He was set to retire in Louisiana with his wife in the next few months. RIP ED!
