Fight the immigration bill effectively
self

Posted on 05/21/2007 12:09:57 PM PDT by oldtimer2

I have been trying to call my Senators (Spector, Casey) this afternoon and the phones are jammed. I called about 10 times to each and could only get through to one line and it had a message that the voice mail was full.

In order to get my message to them I then e-mailed. In addition, I found a site that has the e-mail addresses of the staffers of each Senator and Representative and e-mailed each of them. Maybe you would like to have that site. If so see the link below:

I generally email them from their webpage as they usually have some sort of filter setup to keep the junk mail down so there is a chance your message will get read. Snail mail works best though.

I don't know about Casey, but Specter doesn't give a crap what you think. He is one of the primary sponsors of this bill.

Check out his previous comments on this subject. Voted YES on establishing a Guest Worker program. (May 2006) Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security. (May 2006) Voted YES on giving Guest Workers a path to citizenship. (May 2006) Voted YES on visas for skilled workers. (May 1998) Voted NO on limit welfare for immigrants. (Jun 1997) English immersion over bilingual education. (Jul 2001)

Last Friday, I emailed all the congresspeople and my Senators in Arizona.

While in the process of finding all the Congresspersons in Arizona, I came found something interesting.

Several of the Arizona Congresspeople in this state have a block on their email to prevent mass emails from getting through.

The first thing I found was when you click on the word email, you are asked for your zip code. If your zip code does not match the district the congress person is in, you are directed to your congressperson. In other words your email will not go the the person you intend to email. To get around that, I went to the Congressperson’s home page and looked for their district office Zip code. Got the Zip code for their district office and plugged it into the zip code request to get to the email.

Next you may be asked a simple question such as what is 1 + 1. If you get it right you are then allowed to email him or her.

I have used this to e-mail staffers before and generally get an answer within 1-2 hours from the chief of staff

I outline a very effective way to block amnesty here:

Summary: go to campaign appearances, ask tough questions, and promote the answers.
