Not quite. The bat fit on top of a ring base. It was the only way to mold and package the piece for very little money.
Half of the bats were molded in black, and half were molded
in natural polyethylene but with fluorescent pigment added.
I guess if a kid got a black one in his chips, he would keep buying till he got a glow in the dark bat.
