(and were there any others who share Lawn Mower Sagas?)

No, I haven’t seen John here & not sure anyone has/had his number to contact him. Hope he is okay

Lawn mower story. I have two riding mowers & 4 regular push mowers. All are pretty good ones & all worked last summer. This spring NONE work & I have been using the little electric that I have used for 15 years as backup. Since most mowers here are normally broken, the back up electric has been the one I have mostly used.

It is the one you noted Dog hiding in the snow pix.

Well, it died today about half way through with front yard. I am pretty sure it is shot.. motor just a gentle groan.

Anybody awake?

I have an early flight - so just in for a drive-by. Domestic this week. Off to Charlston WV for the week. Then, I’m home for a week, of all things.

We have a plant in WV that’s working too well. First time in my career that this has happened (usually, when things go wrong, we have cut corners or taken a chance and we just miss our performance guarantees - not go way beyond like here).

Here is the trick, let your lawn mower REST for a spell, talk nice to it while it is resting, pull crank in about a month and whamo, it starts.

This is appropriate timing to talk about mowers. All of my stories about my demonic mower happened about 4 summers ago when I bought a used White mower that was constantly breaking down. For 3 years now that mower has been in the back of my garage gathering dust and probably providing a home for a family of mice.

We have new neighbors who moved in a few weeks ago and he is extremely handy at fixing things. Just this evening he told me about a golfcart he souped up so it would go over 50 mph at half throttle. Supposedly there’s nothing he can’t fix or build.

While he was talking I suddenly remembered that old mower. I have decided to give him that old mower and also an old go-cart we have. Either he’ll get them running or he’ll have to shut up about being able to fix anything. LOL.
