Pirate Master; Season Premier
My very own brain! (With a little help from the world wide web) | 5-10-2007 | Cuz It Aint Their Money

Posted on 05/14/2007 9:40:58 AM PDT by cuz_it_aint_their_money

Join 16 modern-day pirates as they embark on a high seas adventure around the Caribbean island of Dominica in search of hidden treasure that will total $1 million. Over the course of 33 days, the pirates will live aboard a massive 179-foot pirate ship.

Each week, these buccaneers will go on extraordinary expeditions and decipher clues along the way. Gold coins - real money that the pirates can take with them beyond the show - will be awarded after each treasure hunt, but only to some. The prized gold will then play a key role as pirates strike deals with each other and vie for long-term security.

Claiming the lion's share of the week's riches, one pirate will become the captain of the ship and will assign roles and chores to the remaining crew members, setting the tone for law and order or betrayal and sabotage, which could lead to mutiny by the crew. Such fates will be decided on the ship at Pirate's Court, a lively gathering of public speaking and judgment where one individual will be "cut adrift" every episode.

In the end, captain or not, only one pirate will win the largest booty, worth $500,000, and claim the title of "Pirate Master."

Azmyth really gets into his role as Captain. I do believe he’s gone back in time inside his head. What’s with the little hand gestures??

ARRR! Mateys! It be Tuesday, an’ that means it be time fer yer:

The Captain: Azmyth
The Officers: Ben, Jay
The Crew: Christa, Joe Don, Jupiter, Kendra, Laurel, Louie, Nessa
Sent ta Davy Jones’ Locker: John, Christian, Alexis, Cheryl, Sean, Joy

ARRRRR!!!!! The title o’ tonight’s episode be “A Deal With the Devil”

It appears that the crew breakdown for tonight’s expedition is as follows:
The Black Crew consists of Azmyth, Ben, Jay, Jupiter, Laurel.
The Red Crew consists of Louie, Joe Don, Nessa, Kendra, Christa

If the females were smart they would band together and make sure that the Black Crew did not win the expedition. They could do this by simply agreeing among themselves that which ever two females got stuck on the Black Crew would do their best to slow the crew down during the expedition. In return, the three females from the Red Crew would become the new Captain and Officers and they would agree to equally split the treasure among themselves and the two females from the Black Crew.

Then the Captain and her officers would make sure that the three pirates that received the black spots would be Azmyth, Ben and Jay. This would ensure that at least one of the three “bad boys” would get cast adrift.

Will this actually happen? Sadly no. I’m afraid that the Black Crew once again wins the expedition and we will be saying good bye to Joe Don tonight.

Oh well. I’ll be back Friday with your recap. So till then,
Take Care,

ARRR! Send me a FReepmail if ya wants ta be added to the Pirate Master Ping List!

I figure Joe Don has to go tonight too.

Next weeks episode title (per my TiVo) is "Spirits in the Material World". I believe we will see the white caps then.

I hope we are nearing time for the 'white caps'. Otherwise it's just going to be the same thing week after week. I don't know how much longer I can tolerate Az and his Madonna/Hillery like accent morphing. Something needs to happen to keep it from getting very boring, IMHO.

I was determined to ignore Big Brother this year after the last two seasons, but Hubby watches it so there I am watching it as everything else seems to be reruns.

Here is your recap for last Tuesday night’s episode:

The Captain: Azmyth
The Officers: Ben, Jay
The Crew: Christa, Jupiter, Kendra, Laurel, Louie, Nessa
Sent ta Davy Jones’ Locker: John, Christian, Alexis, Cheryl, Sean, Joy, Joe Don

Stacking the Deck - The Triad Cuts Joe Don Adrift

The triad of Azmyth, Ben and Jay continues to grow stronger as they relax and eat hearty breakfasts while the rest of the crew starves and works endlessly right before the Expedition. Even though both crews are neck and neck throughout the Expedition, the Black Crew wins again, putting the triad back in power. With Pirates' Court looming, the crew must choose whether to keep the strong Joe Don, who could be their last chance at removing Azmyth from the Captain's seat, or the likeable Louie, who has formed a close bond with the women on the ship. When the ballots are collected, it is Joe Don who has received the most. After a final kiss from Nessa, he is cut adrift.

"I really felt like I played the game the way I really wanted to play the game," Joe Don explains as he floats out to sea. "I'm gonna miss Nessa. She's a sweet little girl, man. She's cool. And I hope she goes a long ways in this game. I hope she goes a long ways."

Win or Die Trying
After another Pirates' Court, Captain Azmyth and his Officers, Ben and Jay, return to the Captain's Cabin. "The three of us, the triad are feeling well rested, well fed and we have another Expedition coming up," Azmyth points out. "And I feel that fate has already sealed and signed our destiny. The Black Crew shall triumph." Meanwhile, below deck, Joe Don doesn't share Azmyth's beliefs "There's gotta be new blood," he explains. "I'm gonna hang myself if I don't get a win tomorrow, man. It's gonna be tough, but I'm gonna die trying."

A Grueling Morning
The next morning, the crew of the Picton Castle lines up outside the galley to receive their cup of gruel, which is all they will have to eat until the late evening. Azmyth then calls the crew over to give them a list of duties that must be accomplished before the Expedition. Nessa can barely hide her contempt. "Captain Azmyth is definitely number one on my list," she proclaims. "I'm itching to get him out of here."

Azmyth tells the crew he needs someone to clean the barnacles off the ship's hull, but he has ulterior motives. "Since Joe Don and Louie would be on the Red Crew, we're gonna tire them out as much as we can in any way we possibly can," he explains. Jay echoes this when he says, "Me and Azmyth want them to be as weak as possible when we got out on these Expeditions. I think it's a great strategy."

Joe Don jumps in the water to clean barnacles while Louie climbs up the rigging to unfurl sails. While the crew works tirelessly, Azmyth and his Officers kick back and enjoy a hearty breakfast prepared by Jupiter. As Louie works on the ship, he watches the triad and says, "They don't want to feed us that well and we're working hard and they are definitely racking and stacking that deck because those greedy blue coats just want more gold."

The Purser's Treasure

The Pirates gather on the quarterdeck where host Cameron Daddo presents the Chest of Zanzibar. Christa opens the next compartment and Cameron reveals that the next treasure was hidden by the ship's Purser, who left the first clue beneath a floating marker, secure inside a bottle. Azmyth and his Officers join the Black Crew while the rest of the crew picks shot to determine which crew they will join. The Black Crew consists of Azmyth, Ben, Jay, Laurel and Jupiter while the Red Crew includes Joe Don, Louie, Kendra, Nessa and Christa.

As the longboats are lowered, Jay thinks about what could happen if the Black Crew loses. "The reality of this is if we lose it, the triad is in trouble," he explains. "Almost guaranteed, at the next Pirates' Court, one or all of us will be Black Spotted."

A Clue Beneath the Surface
The Expedition begins and both longboats row towards the Western tip of the island in search of the floating marker. The Black Crew sees the marker first and Ben immediately dives underwater to retrieve the bottle containing their first clue. Joe Don swims underwater for the Red Crew as the Black Crew breaks their bottle and examines the map inside.

Now armed with a map of the island, the crews must row to Skull's Point, where they must search the island for a cannon where two hidden ropes await them. Both longboats row to shore, with the Black Crew in the lead. As both crews run uphill on the island, Louie comments, "We're pretty hungry and we're pretty tired…I just felt like I was gonna pass out."

Both crews find the old cannon where two ropes hang over the side of a cliff. Everyone works together as they start to pull the line, which is tied to a barrel hanging at the end. As everyone pulls the barrel up the side of the cliff, Louie hopes the Red Crew can triumph. "This win means everything to me and I wanna take out the biggest threat to me," he explains. "And that's gonna be Az."

Neck and Neck

The Black Crew is the first to pull up their barrel. They learn they must solve a riddle by locating an X where the keys to the treasure are buried. Shortly after the Red Crew retrieves their barrel, Christa notices an X on the beach. When the Black Crew sees the Red Crew running toward the beach, they give up and decide to follow the Red Crew.

Both crews converge on the X at the same time and immediately start digging at its base, unearthing a pair of dials. They learn that they must locate a bunker on the island and use the dials to figure out the correct combination to unlock the bunker and uncover the treasure. The Red and Black Crews run up the beach, locating the bunker at the same time.

Everyone jumps in and quickly starts to turn the dials on the bunker's floor, trying to discover the correct way to unlock the hatch. Both crews are neck and neck until the Black Crew gets their door open first and Jay jumps in, retrieving the treasure. As the Black Crew cheers, the Red Crew suffers their worst defeat yet. "This is probably the hardest loss that I've had," Joe Don explains. "I really wanted to get them out of power and start a new regime."

Drowning Sorrows and Counting Gold
The Red Crew climbs back aboard the ship. Cameron lets Joe Don know that he must sell the Royal Pardon before Pirates' Court. Everyone then heads below deck to drown their sorrows in alcohol. But Kendra is especially worried. "The loss hits me really hard because I barely squeaked by on Pirates' Court last week," she explains. "I'm considered very weak by everybody on the ship and I have a feeling I'm going home. I needed this win."

The mood is decidedly different on the ship's deck when the Black Crew returns victorious and counts their $35,000 of treasure. Azmyth decides to keep his same officers, commenting, "I love Jay and Ben. We're fantastic as a crew together. As long as we can hold this position, I would never turn my back on them."

Friends in High Places
In the Captain's Cabin, the triad splits the treasure 60-40 again, which allows them to pocket extra gold. Jupiter brings snacks to the Captain and his Officers, realizing that her friendship with them can be advantageous. "Though I don't wear the blue coat, I still kind of have an upper hand with being the one who's feeding them," she explains. "So I might just get thrown a little bit more money." This proves to be correct when Jay gives her a few extra gold coins.

Below deck, the Pirates discuss the Royal Pardon and Joe Don comments that he can't place a bid since he is the Pardon's current owner. When pondering her bid, Nessa decides to bid high, seeing an opportunity to keep the Pardon between her and Joe Don.

A Deal with the Devil
Kendra worries about her future, so she grabs Jay and confesses her apprehension about bidding on the Pardon. "I'd really like to stay if there's any kind of chance," she begins. "I'm a vote that can be bought to keep around. My vote is gonna stand when you guys need it." Jay considers this deal, commenting, "If I can keep Kendra, Kendra would have my back forever. I say get out someone that's a threat to us…somebody strong from the other team, like Joe Don or Nessa." The two Pirates strike a deal where Kendra is safe and Jay knows he always has a vote on his side.

Chopping Off the Beast's Head
Azmyth meets with his Officers to discuss the impending Black Spots and everyone agrees that Joe Don is their greatest threat. Since Joe Don can't bid on the Pardon this week, he's more vulnerable, which prompts Jay to suggest they get rid of him, thus chopping the head off the beast. Jay convinces Azmyth not to Black Spot Kendra since she will vote the way the Triad wants.

Everyone then decides to nominate Nessa because she'll most likely be the highest bidder on the Pardon, thus improving Joe Don's chances of departure. Because everyone loves Louie, they decide that he should be the third marked Pirate as a placeholder, further ensuring that the votes move towards Joe Don.

Later, when Azmyth hands the summons out to the crew, Kendra is excited to see no Black Spot. When Nessa sees her Black Spot, she is shocked that she received one instead of Kendra. Louie sees his Black Spot, but remains optimistic because of his ties with the women. When Joe Don sees his Black Spot, he knows that Louie's popularity with the crew could hurt his own chances, but states, "I'm just gonna let them know that popularity doesn't win Expeditions."

As the crew commiserates over the Black Spots, they consider Mutiny. After realizing that Jupiter could be the deciding vote, they ask her if she would be willing to vote for Mutiny, but unfortunately for the crew, Jupiter declines.

Last Moments of Freedom

Later that day, Louie takes a moment to teach Laurel how to steer the ship. Louie enjoys his paternal relationship with the women on the ship. "I trust my ladies and I've always said it and I've told it to them too. I'm proud of 'em and I look at 'em just like my daughters," he says. "But you never know what they're gonna do."

Meanwhile, Nessa shares a moment with Joe Don. The two discuss Louie's popularity in comparison to Joe Don's athleticism on the Expeditions. "I adore Louie, everybody does," Nessa explains. "But when it comes down to the Expeditions, Joe Don's really strong, so if he's taken out of the equation, there's a good chance we've been checkmated by Azmyth."

Nessa starts to flirt with Joe Don again as the two lie together on the ship's deck. "Joe Don's definitely my main confidante and probably the person I'm closest with on the ship right now," Nessa says. "I don't wanna see him leave."

With Pirates' Court looming, Jay reiterates the importance of Kendra's vote tonight and asks her to vote for Joe Don. Kendra is hesitant to agree. "I am extremely conflicted over selling my vote for Joe Don because Joe Don is the best chance we have to break up the triad," she admits. But she complies with Jay's request, even though she is still conflicted.

Pirates' Court - Who Will Go? The Father or the Warrior?

That night, everyone gathers on deck for Pirates' Court. Azmyth explains that he marked Nessa because she seems dissatisfied after losing the Expeditions. He marked Louie as a placeholder and Joe Don because he is a fierce competitor.

Nessa begins her defense by admitting that she doesn't like to lose, before branding Azmyth and his Officers cowards. "While I see that you have a strategy, I think it's unfortunate that you don't welcome your competition," she states, staring into the Captain's eyes. "That you'd rather stack the deck than embrace the competition that's out there. But I'm sure there's some method to your madness."

Louie steps forward to defend himself, reiterating his love for the women on the ship. "I'm as proud as any father could be of all of you," he says, eliciting smiles from the women. "You're strong and courageous women. My fate is in your hands."

When Joe Don begins his defense, he mentions Louie's role as a father figure and contrasts that with his own role as a warrior. "I think you need a warrior to light the way and be your voice," he proclaims confidently. "I don't think the father can keep you safe, especially with these individuals. I think you're gonna be picked off one by one. Louie can only do so much."

Turning to Kendra, Joe Don reminds her of an incident where he helped her swim to shore and says, "I feel like I kind of saved you, man. And tonight, I kind of feel like you need to save me." When Cameron asks Kendra if they can afford to lose Joe Don, she says, "He's the fighting chance that the Red Crew needs." Christa, Laurel, and Jupiter all echo the sentiment that tonight's decision is a tough one.

One by one, the Pirates cast their ballots atop the dagger's blade. Cameron examines the ballots and then reveals that Nessa is the highest bidder for the Pardon at $5,000. As she pays Joe Don, Cameron informs her that she received no votes. Cameron then tells Joe Don that he received three ballots while Louie received one. After passionately kissing Nessa in front of the crew, Joe Don leaves the ship and is cut adrift.

Capt’ Cuz’s comment: For all her wheeling and dealing and claiming that her vote can be bought, and promising Jay that she will vote for Joe Don, with a “I don’t like it but I made a promise and I’ll stick to it.” Kendra ended up voting for Louie instead of Joe Don. Guess we know how trustworthy Kendra is.

The current booty take is as follows:
Azmyth: $38,050
Ben: $32,708
Christa: $12,037.50
Jay: $26,325
Jupiter: $21,225
Kendra: $13,620.50
Laurel: $17,100
Louie: $16,870.50
Nessa: $8,371.50

Azmyth splits $35,000 treasure, ($9,200 for himself, $7,000 each to Ben & Jay and $5,900 each to Laurel and Jupiter).
Jay gives Jupiter an extra $500 from his share.
Nessa buys Pardon from Joe Don for $5,000

Cast adrift:
Joe Don: $30,600
Joy: $6,033
Sean: $2,034
Cheryl: $10,625
Alexis: $2,200
Christian: $ 200
John: $ 2,000

It’s Tuesday, an’ that means it’s time for your:

The Captain: Azmyth,
The Officers: Ben, Jay
The Crew: Christa, Jupiter, Kendra, Laurel, Louie, Nessa
Sent ta Davy Jones’ Locker: John, Christian, Alexis, Cheryl, Sean, Joy, Joe Don

ARRRRR!!!!! The title o’ tonight’s episode be “Spirits in the Material World”

“The crew comes face-to-face with their past sins when some familiar spirits appear aboard the Picton Castle.”
From the title and the clue above, it appears as if the “White” Crew makes a reappearance. Yep, all those who have been cut adrift are back to haunt the crew and possibly a chance for even more booty.
The Black Crew consists of Azmyth, Ben, Jay, Christa, Jupiter, Kendra, Laurel, Louie, Nessa.
The Red White Crew consists of John, Christian, Alexis, Cheryl, Sean, Joy, Joe Don.

”Will vengeful ghosts swipe the treasure and choose which of the remaining Pirates get marked?”
If you stop at just this clue, we are lead to believe that if the White Crew wins the expedition, then they get to keep the treasure and (and this is a mighty BIG and) get to pick which of the remaining three pirates get black spots. I would say this is a harbinger of doom for Azmyth, Ben and Jay. At least if I were on the White Crew anyway!

Can the Captain and the Officers sustain their first direct attack - or will mutiny prevail?
However, if you include this clue, then we are lead to believe that the Black Crew wins the expedition and as a result, Azmyth, Ben and Jay remain as Captain and Officers and quite possibly Azmyth faces his first Mutiny. In either case, it doesn’t look too promising for Captain Azmyth.

So the question remains: Who will be cut adrift tonight? Like I said above, it doesn’t look too promising for our Captain. Say bye-bye to Azmyth.

I’ll be back Monday with a recap.
Take Care,

ARRR! Send me a FReepmail if ya wants ta be added to the Pirate Master Ping List!

thanks for all the work, cuz. is it moved to Tuesday for good now?

I don’t think the show is getting any better. all the missions seem the same (row to shore, run through the jungle, find a box, yawn), despite the hokey pirate lore.

I like the “Royal Pardon” idea, but the holder should be allowed to sell it to whomever he wants, for whatever price. would add more strategy.

and how dumb was it to vote off someone holding $30K? that money is gone now.

thanks again for the updates.

It would appear that way. Of course they did the same thing to the Amazing Race (moving it from Thursday at 8:00 to Tuesday at 10:00) when the ratings were not so hot.
Then they moved it to Sunday nights when the ratings started to improve.

I think this show has SO much potential. I agree that the whole “row to shore, run through the jungle” for the challenges is about as exciting as the living arrangements in “Survivor: Africa” (never leave the boma or the residents will EAT you). Maybe Burnett can convince TPTB at CBS to give him another shot with some tweaking. Here are my suggestions:

1. Only ONE officer has to agree to the mutiny, not both. Better yet, no officers have to agree to the mutiny.

2. Just like the Royal Pardon, the officers must change with each cycle. Captain can stay in power, but he must switch officers after every challenge. This would eliminate this whole “triad” crap that has completely dragged the season down.

3. One of the officers must lead the opposing team.

Loved how our stripper/scientist lost the darn key last night. The fact that John’s such a dufus, was voted off first and was so sore that he wasn’t made captain the first week, it wouldn’t surprise me if he’d lost it on purpose just for payback, especially when Joe Don and Cheryl were on the same team.

I was soooo hoping the White Team would have succeeded. Darn that Fabio wannabe for losing the key! He deserved to be set adrift first, it’s just a shame he found his way home. I guess that was the only chance for the white team?

Sorry for this taking so long.
I decided to stay off the computer until I had a chance to buy and read the last Harry Potter book.
(Yes, I’m one of those adult Harry Potter fans that you’ve been hearing about in the news lately,
and NO, I’m not going to spoil the ending. So don’t even ask!)

Now that that’s over and done with:

Here is your recap for last Tuesday night’s episode:

The Captain: Azmyth
The Officers: Ben, Jay
The Crew: Christa, Kendra, Laurel, Louie, Nessa
Sent ta Davy Jones’ Locker: John, Christian, Alexis, Cheryl, Sean, Joy, Joe Don, Jupiter

Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen: Jupiter is Cut Adrift

The triad of Azmyth, Jay and Ben remains in command as they continue to eliminate their greatest threats. However, the emergence of the Ghost Pirates, those who have been cut adrift since the journey began, gives the crew of the Picton Castle hope that change is possible. On the Expedition, the entire crew competes against the Ghost Pirates, with the potential of relieving the triad of their command if the Ghost Pirates win. Unfortunately for all but the triad, Azmyth's Black Crew wins again, so the triad remains in power. When Jupiter publicly reveals talk of Mutiny during dinner, she alienates herself from her fellow shipmates as well as the Captain and his Officers. Once Pirates' Court begins, the Pirates are closer to making Mutiny a reality than ever before. However, it is Jupiter who receives the most ballots after her mutinous outburst.

"I'm surprised that I got cut adrift," Jupiter says as she floats out to sea. "Azmyth has changed because of his position and his power. I'm just shocked. I have, from day one, had Azmyth's back. But you can't always expect people to treat you the way that you treat them."

Betrayal Below Deck
Nessa returns from her toughest Pirates' Court yet after her closest confidant, Joe Don, is cut adrift. Louie is also upset over Joe Don's departure, but for different reasons. "Joe Don's been cut adrift because Captain Az wants to eliminate any chance of the Red Crew ever winning," he says. "So he wants to eliminate the manpower. And that's me. There's not much manpower left on the Red Crew."

Jay confronts Kendra after she went back on her word and placed a ballot for Louie instead of Joe Don. He can barely contain his anger over the fact that Kendra went against their deal. But Kendra realizes that aligning herself with Jay was a bad idea. "Why was I doing what basically the enemy wanted me to do?" she asks. "We need to break the power up because they're gonna continue to win. I feel it would be in our best interest if Azmyth was no longer the Captain."

Blast from the Past

After the ship hits some choppy waters, Cameron Daddo meets with the Pirates and opens the next compartment of the Chest of Zanzibar. He reveals that the next treasure was hidden by Captain Steel's navigator and that this Expedition will take the crew down the Rio del Muerte, a place of ghosts. As he mentions ghosts, the crew is stunned to see their own ghosts from the past return when all the Pirates who have been cut adrift climb onboard the ship.

Nessa is excited to see Joe Don return, but Jay doesn't share her sentiments. "All the ghosts of the old crew that we cut adrift, I'm pretty much responsible for every single one of those people," he points out. "So I'm a little bit nervous."

Instead of picking crews, the Pirates learn that they will all join the Black Crew, along with Captain Azmyth and his Officers. They will compete against the Ghost Pirates on the next Expedition where the winning crew will keep the treasure. Cameron also informs everyone that if the Ghost Pirates win, they will relieve the triad of their command and they will decide who gets the Black Spots.

Ben realizes the enormity of the situation when he says, "There was a lot of resentment and anger coming from those Ghost Pirates that would be directed at myself, Azmyth and Jay. We're the strong triad and we knew that if we lost, our asses were on the line."

As the longboats are lowered, Louie realizes that it's advantageous for either crew to win because he'll either receive gold or dethrone the triad. As Joe Don prepares for the Expedition, he says, "I really want to be the guy that's gotta tell them who gets the Black Spot. I'm gonna slay 'em."

The Ghosts vs. The Pirates

The Expedition begins with both crews rowing towards the jungle. Using their maps, the crews must navigate up the jungle river and look for the coffin containing a riddle and their next clue. As the crews hit the mouth of the river, the Black Crew takes the lead. When they see the caskets, Jay and Sean each jump into the water for their respective crews and rip the lids off the caskets, which contain the clues. The crews must now head up the river and search for the treasure's key. The first crew there will have the opportunity to sabotage the crew that follows, putting their key further out of reach.

Both crews abandon the longboats and run through the river, in search of the keys. Azmyth sees the key hanging over the river and quickly retrieves it before triggering the sabotage, which puts the other key up higher. John of the Ghost Crew sees the key high overhead and climbs a vine to get it. Once both keys are retrieved, the crews must make their way to the fork in the river and use their compasses to head east to a graveyard. While the Black Crew has trouble determining which direction is east and heads in the wrong direction, the Ghost Crew forges ahead up the river. John, however, unknowingly drops the key into the water.

A Treasure of Grave Importance

As the Black Crew crosses rugged terrain, they realize they may be lost. Kendra has a tough time with this new area, but confidently proclaims, "I will hurt myself before I will quit." The Ghosts continue to take the lead, but their excitement turns to dread when no one can find the key. When everyone realizes that John dropped the key somewhere, Joe Don comes to a painful realization: "We potentially just lost the race." The Ghost Crew returns to the jungle and begins a painstaking search for the key.

Meanwhile, on the Black Crew, Ben worries about going the wrong direction. "The Ghost Crew, if they win, they could potentially change the whole name of the game by taking the triad out of power and potentially giving us all Black Spots," he says. Jay leads the crew east, where they discover the graveyard. Everyone deciphers more clues on the gravestones and they discover that they must head north to find the Angel Tree and locate the hidden treasure.

Winning is Key

The Ghost Crew continues to search through the river, looking for the key. As animosity towards John grows, Christian tries to calm his fellow Pirates who jokingly consider drowning John while he searches underwater. Elsewhere, the Black Crew locates a tree with a cross on it. Azmyth climbs up, finds a canister, uses the key to unlock it and discovers treasure inside. The Black Crew cheers and fires the blunderbuss, signaling their victory.

Back at the graveyard, the Ghost Crew meets with Cameron, who mentions that they had their chance for revenge, but now it's time to disappear, so the Ghost Pirates do just that. Next, the Black Crew meets with Cameron and immediately starts counting their treasure, which amounts to $50,000. Cameron gives Azmyth the opportunity to choose new Officers, but Azmyth points out that they have won four in a row, so there's no reason to change.

The Possibility of Mutiny
When the triad returns to the ship, Azmyth and his Officers divide the gold. "As the Captain, I decided to put the triad back in command," Azmyth says. "Why not? Why would I make any other choice when we're doing so good right now?" Azmyth then sets aside an extra $500 for Jupiter as payment for her cooking duties.

Up on deck, Nessa confesses to Louie that she secretly hoped the Ghosts would win the Expedition so things could change. They then talk about the possibility of Mutiny, realizing that it could be close to happening as long as the Officers agree. Nessa thinks Jay can be convinced because Azmyth could become a threat to him. She then approaches Jay, letting him know that Azmyth is getting too powerful and he needs to go. "I've gotta get rid of Azmyth sooner or later anyways," Jay explains. "He's stronger than me out on these Expeditions. He's gotta go. If someone approaches me with a Mutiny…I will Mutiny."

Bad Table Manners
As Jupiter prepares dinner in the galley, Laurel brings up Mutiny, but Jupiter doesn't want to see Azmyth go. "I have to make sure that I tell Azmyth what's happening now with the crew so that he doesn't get cut adrift," Jupiter says.

As the entire crew sits down for dinner, Jupiter turns to Azmyth and asks about his Officers, saying, "Is it gonna stay this way or is the game gonna switch up and be fun again?" Azmyth and his Officers are taken aback, but Jupiter tries to explain herself, saying that it's important to have a happy crew, yet some of the crew is talking Mutiny. The crew and the Officers are shocked by Jupiter's outburst. When Jupiter says things are unfair, Azmyth points out that she's making more money than anybody because she's the cook.

Jupiter reiterates the fact that she just wanted Azmyth to be aware of the mutinous talk and Laurel sees an opportunity to poke fun at the male triad, which doesn't sit well with the Captain. Azmyth and his Officers retreat to the Captain's Cabin, upset that Jupiter and Laurel just slapped them in the face with disrespect. The two women have made themselves the targets of the triad.

Personal Grudges Create Black Spots
Below deck, the crew starts to place bids on the pardon. Kendra decides to place a high bid of $4,000 because she's certain she'll be cut adrift due to her recent clash with Jay.

When the triad meets to discuss the impending Black Spots, everyone agrees that Kendra is an easy target because of her slow speed and because she went back on her word. Next, they discuss Laurel, with Ben noting, "Laurel, she's been annoying for awhile now. She's just complaining, not doing anything. Now she's on the chopping block." Jay then mentions that he trusts Jupiter the least. Azmyth ponders this and says, "Jupiter, a lovely girl. She's awesome. But if she's saying stuff about Mutiny, giving Jupiter one of the Black Spots could have to happen."

The Pirates gather on deck where Azmyth hands out the summons. When Jupiter sees a Black Spot, she welcomes it and realizes her dinner conversation made her a target. Kendra isn't surprised to see another Black Spot, saying, "The entire crew has always put my name up first for a Black Spot just because I'm one of the slower members of the pack." Laurel finds a Black Spot and immediately starts to develop a strategy against Azmyth for Pirates' Court. "I'm gonna do my best to embarrass him no matter what 'cause I don't like the guy," she states confidently.

Who Will Vote for Mutiny?

Louie and Nessa continue to talk Mutiny and discuss Jupiter's outburst at dinner, which made them all look bad. Louie then lets Jay know that a Mutiny could happen tonight and Jay seems fine with it. "Azmyth's got a big target on his back," Jay notes. "If Azmyth gets cut adrift tonight or Jupiter goes, I win either way."

Ben is more hesitant to agree when Louie asks him about Mutiny, but it's still a possibility. "Tonight, there is a chance of Mutiny," Louie explains. "But when you're sitting there and you're the only one voting Mutiny and there's no one else behind you…it's a waste of a ballot. But you never know what's gonna happen at Pirates' Court."

Ladies Night at Pirates' Court

As Pirates' Court begins, Azmyth explains that he marked Kendra because she's a liability on the Expeditions, he marked Jupiter because she addressed the crew's dissatisfaction despite the fact that she earns extra money, and he marked Laurel because of her attitude and her desire for a new Captain. Azmyth also points out that the situation with the crew isn't that bad since he continues to share the treasure with the crew even though he doesn't have to.

Laurel begins her defense by establishing that her only attitude problems are directed at Azmyth. When Azmyth starts to interrupt, she angrily says "If you could just be quiet the whole time I'm talking, I'd appreciate it, I'm sick of your voice," which elicits laughter from the crew. Laurel then asks her fellow shipmates if they would share the gold as Captain, and when they all say "Yes," she points out that Azmyth isn't alone in sharing. "If you don't share the gold, then you're not gonna last as Captain because no one's gonna be happy," she states.

Kendra steps forward to defend herself, stressing the fact that she's getting stronger with each Expedition. "No matter what, no matter if I'm injured, I will never stop," she assures the crew. "I will keep going."

Jupiter begins her defense by advocating change before reassuring Azmyth that she'll never Mutiny against him. She concludes her defense, when she says, "I feel as though I've put myself out there for you guys to see who I am. But I'm ready to better myself so that I remain on the ship because I love being here."

Cameron gives Azmyth an opportunity to make a case for his Captaincy, which leads Azmyth to compliment his strong Officers, before saying, "We're definitely as fair as we possibly can be. What could we change other than the fact that we're up here? I've set an example and I think it's a fair and just example."

One by one, the Pirates cast their ballots atop the dagger's blade. Cameron examines the ballots, along with the bids for the Royal Pardon. He then announces Kendra as the highest bidder with $4,000, but tells her she didn't receive a single ballot. Laurel learns that she's safe and Cameron announces that the ballot is unanimous, so it's now between Jupiter and the Captain. Cameron turns to Jupiter and lets her know that she received all three ballots. Jupiter's voyage is over, so she is cut adrift.

NOT!

Well folks, SeeBS has made it official. The ratings for Pirate Master have been so bad that they have pulled it from the broadcast schedule. All remaining episodes for Pirate Master will now be broadcast ONLINE at the Pirate Master SeeBS website.

For those who are still interested here is the website:

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/pirate_master/

Since SeeBS cannot even see fit to broadcast the remaining 5 shows, I see no reason to continue this thread or ping list.

Thank you for sticking through this for as long as you have.

I’ll see most of you for the next season of Survivor.

Take care, Cuz,
