What a tragic situation - good on Mr. Floyd for stopping and taking care of the dirtbag.
McKay’s cruiser videotaped the incident. The tape shows McKay, who had not drawn his gun, being shot by Kenney, according to Attorney General Kelly Ayotte. McKay, a 12-year veteran of the Franconia Police Department, was not wearing a bullet-resistant vest.
In the wimpified no gun society envisioned by liberals, the perpetrator in this case probably would have gone on and killed others and when captured would have received less than a life sentence and certainly not have been executed. This brave former Marine used his training to do what needed to be done and delivered swift justice to a brutal murderer. There will be no no repeat offenses or parole for Mr Kennedy and the state has been saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in trial and incarceration costs.
"Not face charges"... Hell, he should be given a medal!!!
Reminds me of an incident in Texas where a man witnessed a State Trooper being shot. He grabbed his scoped hunting rifle and took the perp out! He was given an award by the state for being a hero!
I don't know the laws in NH, but I am reasonably sure that if I, as a MA resident, shot a man who seemed to be reloading his gun, I would be in a world of trouble.
Oh no, they killed Kenny!
Once a Marine..always a Marine! (except Murtha)
Feud? Where is the feud?
The homeowner was nice about it. He called the cops and told them that a black Audi had been in the habit of speeding up and down RT 116. The State cops took an interest and took paint scrapings off the wrecked car. The cops figured that the perp would become involved in another accident sooner or later. I suspect that this case will be elevated in the light of developments.
No way to know if they are related, but it is provocative.
This is a VERY smelly story.I would bet that we get a lot more information on this as the victim’s(all of them) families start to speak out.
A hero Marine on the battlefield and on the streets of his own country. God bless this man. May the perp be getting his just due as he meets his maker.

I knew a fellow from Texas a long time ago who used to say “some people need Killing”. Sounds like the perp was one of them.
Good job, Marine!
I love a happy ending.
*snif*
I look forward ten years to when more of the military have returned to our shores and are running for office, sitting in the Mayor’s seats, teaching in the schools, shooting bad guys, working on the police force, etc. Good for this guy to step in and help.
Its never a good idea to shoot at a cop.
The perp brought this on himself.
Good job Marine.
These are the kinds of details I was talking about. I still don’t understand just how far Kenney “drove” after running over the officer with his car.
And I fail to see why Kenney’s high school status matters. Reporters suck.
Floyd is a hero...in my book.
That reminds me of an incident near Rankin Tx many years ago. A Texas highway Patrol Trooper stopped a car fo some reason that my old memory fails to remember. (I think it was a stolen vehicle). The perp shoots the trooper as he walks over to the car, and proceeds to get out and pump several more bullets into the downed policeman. A local rancher drives by as this is happening ans stops about 50 yards away, pulls out his 30-06 and blows the perp away with one shot, then uses the trooper’s car rasio to call for help. The trooper dies and there is not even an investigation into the rancher’s actions. The Highway Patrol takes up a collection and buys the rancher a gold plated commerative .45 pistol. The perp’s family then tries suing to force the state to reveal the name and address of the rancher and the state refuses to do so and the courts uphold it by throwing out the suits.
From NH AG’s statement May 12th, 2007...
“...Cpl. McKay’s cruiser video confirmed that Kenney fired numerous shots at Cpl. McKay.”

But i wonder how a dash-cam captured what was going on behind the cruiser...
The AG’s office May 13th, 2007
“...Conte said he did not know how fast McKay was driving when he overtook the Toyota about 1 1/2 miles later on Route 116. Strelzin said McKay, who radioed in the pursuit and asked for backup, pulled his cruiser ahead of Kenney’s car, forcing him to stop.”
