money cant buy love by the flying lizards.
only the greatest tune of all time
Excellent post and you have great taste in music. I’m pretty sure I’ve told you that before though. :^)
I’ll post my list later. I have Mother’s day duties to fulfill!
Lady of Shallot Loreena McKinnett
The Reach Dan Fogelberg
Coreys Coming Harry Chapin
Jolly Roving Tar Great Big Sea
Conviction of the Heart Kenny Loggins
Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes Paul Simon
Through Heavens Eyes Prince of Egypt Soundtrack
Summer, Highland Falls - Billy Joel
Boy With Moon and Stars on His Head Cat Stevens
Living Years Mike and the Mechanics
Winterwood Don McLean
Don Quixote Gordon Lightfoot
The Frozen Man James Taylor
Somewhere Beyond the Sea Bobby Darin
The Way You Look Tonight Frank Sinatra
The Wings that Fly Us Home John Denver
Ave Maria Franz Bibel
Il est Ne le Devin Enfant Traditional
Februarys Song Josh Groban
Flower Duet - Léo Delibes
This is an extremely personal list in no particular order. Some of the tunes are on it because they mean so much to me (Living Years) Some are just so outstanding musically to me (Conviction of the Heart). Winterwood has my single favorite lyric line ever. I’ve tried to limit it to one cut per artist. Sappy? Probably, but then so am I.
Some, like “Breath of Heaven” recorded by my wife’s choir would make the list, but is not widely available.
A top 50 list would be more representative of my tastes, as a number of these titles could just as easily fall to number 30 or 40.
You would think The Good, The Bad and The Queen could make it on the radio judging by the pedigree of the band members. I haven’t heard all of the bands on your list, but the ones I have are very good. And some of them I have just heard about, but have heard great things.
1.Atlanta Rhythm Section - Spooky
2.Henry Paul Band - Grey ghost
3.Black Crows - She Talks To Angels
4.Billy Joel - Big Man on Mulberry St.
5.
I have a lot of guilty pleasures myself which would include John Denver. I am not familiar with "Wings That Fly Us Home" so I'll have to check that one out.
