I notice the date and time are December 25, 2004 at about 11:50 pm. What was the official explanation of this film?

Hope it’s ours — or if not, that it’s friendly!

Damned aliens! They come here and dump their toilets over our country. Seriously, it was a MK-IV weather balloon, I’ve seen plenty of them.

A secret George Soros funded project smuggling in illegal aliens from the planet Morutopia to take over the leadership of MoveOn.org?

No spatial reference (shot against blank sky). All it would take for it to” zoom off” is to swing the camera or to pivot the helicopter... Worthless video.

Never read a UFO report that stated pieces of it were falling off. This looks like space junk. I watched a Russian satellite fall once while we were in a drive in theater, and to us it looked like a plane on fire with burning chunks falling off, just like this video. We found out the next morning on the news what the object was.

My wife and I were driving past an old corn field late one night.
We saw headlight in the cornfield moving slowly. I told my wife in a really excited voice “LOOK, it’s a UPO!!”.
She said “A what?”
I said “An unidentified plowing object”.
She said “Better let me drive, you’re getting tired”.
Seriously, I couldn't tell what make of tractor it was....
