Officer Shoots Dog While Looking For Water-Balloon Thrower
Officer Said Leashed Dog Lunged At Him

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A dog is recovering after being shot by a police officer in Garfield Heights.
The shooting happened on Sunday.
Police said the officer was forced to shoot when the dog threatened his safety, but some neighbors said it is not true.
Officers said they arrived on Turney Road because a driver said he had been hit in the face with a water balloon.
When a police officer walked up a driveway to investigate, he said a dog, named Haley, lunged at him. Haley was leashed.
Haley's owner said his trust in police is shaken.
"He said, I thought someone came back here as a suspect.' " said Mark Orahoske, the dog's owner. "A suspect for what, a water ballon? I mean -- I don't understand this. This is ridiculous."
Police continue to investigate the water balloon incident. The shooting of the dog is not under investigation because officials said the officer said the dog lunged at him.
Haley was taken to an animal clinic and she is expected to recover.
I think the officer should be shot by the dog’s owner. Aim for the knee, it would be nice if he recovered...
Ban water balloons.
And we all know everthing a cop says must be the truth, just like all those cops were telling the truth in the murder of that 92 year old lady in their no-knock drug raid in Atlanta.
Bummer.

Too typical, if I shot someone’s dog because it lunged at me I’d be facing a firearms charge, animal cruelty and a civil suit. I guess this reinforces the belief some people have that certain american lives/safety are more valuable than the rest and therefore those “special people” are above the law and are entitled to more liberty when it comes to personal defense.
Maybe Dunkin Donuts can host classes.
Oink !
