Damned right. And even though it was a motorcycle, his chase scene in "The Great Escape" should be up there as well.

Even though I've seen it a million times, when Steve McQ jumps the fence for the first time, I hold my breath. A fantastic film.

Steve was such a great motorcyclist, that in some of those scenes, who wore a Nazi uniform, and performed some of the Nazi stunts.

You know there is some old film footage of actual motorcycle races that Steve McQ was in. I have seen some, he was a good bike rider.

The motorcycle was actually a reworked Triumph made to resemble a German BMW. The BMW’s couldn’t clear the fence, too slow.

Also, some trivia is that after cutting those daily scenes McQueen would go riding around the countryside on the Triumph and wearing his Nazi uiform, which had the locals turning their heads.

My Grandfather took me to see the great escape when the movie premiered at the Fox theater in Atlanta about 65.WOW! Still one of my favorite movies of all time.
