I loev guns, but I don’t think those guns are particularly
“manly weapons”. Effective and useful but not manly.
A manly weapon is a battle axe, two handed sword, samauri sword, long lance for use on horseback, Hawken Rifle, or Pennsylvania Rifle. Mabye even a Brown Bess, 1903 Springfield, M1917 or M1 Garand.
THOSE are MANLY weapons. But then, I’m an atavist.
A woman or child could use most of the weapons listed here.
Good artilce though. I saved it.

Flames and smoke everywhere when I fire it! Love it.

I have an early virginia style .54 cal flintlock. It’s a hoot to shoot. (I will admit the barrel is 36 inches, and not 42, but after all, I am a lady.)
I call her Longneedle.

Shame on you for putting quotes around “manly weapons” when the headline clearly states “manliest firearms.”

Yeah! (not that I'm about to use any of the weapons you list ....)
One of the ways we know Paris is a womanizing wuss in The Iliad is that instead of fighting like a man he was an archer. "Real Men" fight up close and personal.
Other than that, I kind of like my p226.

For quite a while, I thought that I needed a "manly handgun," and in order to be sure that we keep the wild elephant population down in my neighborhood, I decided on a TC Contender, in .375JDJ. I figured, what could be better than having a handgun that can be converted to fire "less manly" cartridges, like the .45-70 and .444 Marlin "buffalo" cartridges (just to keep there populations down too).
But then I came to my senses, and just bought a S&W 625-5...
