La Ville Rouge, the dam of Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Barbaro, foaled a full brother to the late Classic-winning colt April 19.

According to a release from Dr. John and Alice Chandler's Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington, where the mare is kept, La Ville Rouge produced the bay son of Dynaformer at 2:08 a.m.

Both mare and foal are healthy and doing well, according to the farm.

The colt was bred by Roy and Gretchen Jackson, who also bred and owned Barbaro.

Nicanor is the first full brother and goes into training as a two year old next spring.

“Nicanor is the first full brother and goes into training as a two year old next spring.”

That is correct.

Horse racing in Iran. Betting is illegal (cough cough) so the track may give prizes to people who guess the winner.

In my case, it’s the first time I had the pleasure of logging on for days.

The fiance tends to keep me BUSY at times....

That is still one of the most exciting watched events each year on earth.

Fixed it for ya.

The Kentucky Derby is the most exciting two minutes in sports. I always stand up to watch it and turn the t.v. as high as it goes. I love it; plus I love to see all of the ladies' hats.

I enjoy all the hype prior to the race too; unlike the hype before the Super Bowl (unless it's the Packers in the S.B. of course).
