OK, time has expired.

The winner is: no one, no answers were submitted.

In the interest of an honest game, here are the answers:

--------------

1) Zuider? -- Z, Zuider Zee. Our Dutch friends are certainly embarrassed here.
2) Kaboo? -- P kaboo, I see you
3) Don't pull too many of these? -- Pulling more than 6 G's can be fatal
4) Sheep? -- Ewes, or Us
5) Where to find spellers? -- At Bees, or Bs.
6) Average, in theory? -- C is typically the 'average' grade in school, not counting grade inflation.
7) Symbol for tungsten? -- W.
8) A house extention? -- An ell, or L.
9) 18 of these at the Masters? -- Every hole has a tee, or T.
10) Mary, with lipstick? -- Mary Kay, right? or K.
11) Originally, one head of cattle? -- In Phoenicia, cattle were counted by writing a symbol for each critter that resembled a triangle, after the shape of the cow's head. Over time, and after migration of this abbrev to Greece, this became the letter 'alpha', or A.
12) 'Rubber Ball' man? -- Bobby Vee made that song famous in 1961.
13) An enormous cup? -- Most would agree that a brassiere with cup size F is enormous.
14) X x L ? Roman numerals: X=10, L=50, 10 * 50 =500, or D.
15) Judy Garland called out to her? -- ''Auntie Em''.
16) You are NOT making this contract! -- In contract bridge, one 'doubles' the opponent when one thinks they won't make the contract.
The symbol for 'double' is X.
17) The voiceless fricative? -- In linguistics, that would be the letter F (or, if you're a formalist, the phoneme 'eff').
18) Michael used to like to hit it? -- Michael Jordan was well famed for 'hitting the J'.
19) You won't leave home without it! -- Oxygen, certainly, or O.
20) Warum? Pochemu? -- German and Russian, respectively, for 'why', or Y.
21) Amperage? -- In physics, 'I' is the common symbol for the amount of electrons flowing thru a circuit, the amperage.
22) The most frequent 'silent' letter? -- 'E', without doubt. Fame, fine, dine, wine, kine, tine, and thousands others.
23) Most of the earth's atmosphere? -- Nitrogen, chemical symbol 'N'.
24) 2nd person plural of the verb ''to be''? -- I am, you R.
25) Line up? -- Americans 'line up'; Britons 'queue', or Q.
26) Chicago Beans? -- The ticker symbol for soybeans, as traded in Chicago, is 'S'.

My aplogies, m'friend!

You are the CLEAR winner!

Your score is: 21. 9 correct, 3 incorrect. F is indeed an enormous cup, but H is more enormous...and besides, F is the 'voiceless fricative'.

Kaboo? P kaboo, yes?

Surely we would agree there are 18 tees, Ts, at the Masters.

Well done!

agreed, but O was already taken.

You won't leave home w/o oxygen, O. True?

Well played!
