Ok, who else had a grandmother who would put down layers of newspaper on the picnic table then serve cold watermelon on a hot day?

Not newspaper on the picinic table for us, just handed a big slice and sent out in the yard.

My grandmother used a plastic tablecloth that you could just hose off afterward.

Anyone ever scoop a hole in the top of a watermelon, pour in grain alcohol, and let it soak?
